On A Winter Sunday
by Shawn Aveningo Sanders / March 25th, 2018
A titan triumphs over a hawk.
A tiger is smothered by cheese.
An Indian chief is electrocuted.
A native escapes the wrath of a pirate.
A bear rips through a steel cage.
A cat bats down a bird with its oversized paw.
A cowboy takes a nap until the next rodeo.
A plane flies over a violent sea.
Freedom towers over a giant.
Coaches celebrate.
Coaches console.
A family sits down to pray before dinner,
while citizens judge those
who bend a knee
against those who don’t.
