The Last

when the last tear drop falls
along with the last bird from high
when the ocean’s waters burn
the last creatures within
and the final forest animals
have been buried in ash
will you be happy then
with your nuclear energy
will you be feeling strong
and proud of your poison
bombs and bullets
destroyer of millions and millions
of women and children
that you never cared to see
to look upon the destruction
of the people and the planet
greed and indifference your drink
drunk in blood and death
but now perhaps repentance
is your test?
