American Culture

If there is an eternity
Let me sit at the table with debs and other american socialists,
Muckrakers, unionists, and freethinkers

Let me chat with tarbell, darrow, and sandburg
Let me sing with joe hill and guthrie

Let me sit silently
As i listen to fdr and w.e.b. dubois talk about the future

At night

Let me contemplate the eternal with
jefferson, thoreau, whitman, and zinn

And

If i am good
Maybe sam clemens will lead us all in prayer
