Shoved to the border of their owner’s land
By centurion dogs possessed by driving
Their charges, in that way mean dogs do
Fangs glistening, they flaunted authority
As if they were humans herding refugees
To the torn frontier of their birth country
Forcing them against razor-wired fences
Neither letting them cross the frontier
Nor giving them sanction to remain
