Awaken
by Adam Levon Brown / April 10th, 2016
The laser weaponry
of my snake tongue
serrated and malignant
etches out a piece
in the minds of
the uninformed
A small part of the psyche
which is in constant turmoil and
caught between fear and action
A coiled, Sapphire-headed
cobra with poison as words,
poised to strike without warning
Battered beyond emotional
recognition, the acid pools from
my wounds and burns a hole
through the lies that you present
as truth
With this hole, I enter your world
silently during your conscious sleep
I judge you, I test your worth,
I enjoy your company
I slither close to your
propagandized ears
and whisper just one word:
AWAKEN
