Home Town

Nightmares
ruin my
hometown
they leave
me on the
beaches of
lake Erie
buried
up to
my knees
in sand
and remind
me
of all
that gets
lost
down by
the 14th
street train
tracks where
I answer
the cry of
the train
whistle with
cries of
my own
from a
war
that is
over but
not gone.
