Wavelength

She gazed upon the waves
her windswept hair
catching sand
from distant shores
through the mist
of memories.
Wings of worry
Songs of sorrow
borne broadly
along the beach.
Where the sandpiper
runs
far
into the climbing shadows
the footprints
of childhood
washed
behind the toes
of barefoot time
beyond her reach.
