Same Old Song and Dance
by Scott Thomas Outlar / August 30th, 2015
Bloody, bloody
silver
stripped down to the rust
Broken bones
of marrow
in a liquid puddle glaze
and the bugs come crawling
for the acid dehydration
spiked with honey sugar crave
and the ants go marching
off to brutal conflict
with a devil on their shoulder spouting lies
Fire, fire
focus
burning as a laser beam
Fallout failure
frenzy
melting down a house of cards
and the laughs come cackling
for the throne collapsing
down to empire rubble strewn
and the feet start dancing
to evolution’s orchestra of light
searing the truth into dark eyes
