Our Only Time

In this time,
our time,
ghosts fight
to the death,
vultures
drift over
armies
stretched
sea to bloody
sea and the
bloodshot eye
of Genghis Khan
stares down.
In this house
racists and rapists
dine with kings
and queens
and popes
baptize killers
called saints.
In this moon-
sized fist hyenas
bark, grave diggers
work overtime
and loyal
soldiers burn
down the world.
In this time,
our only time.
