Watching Us

Let them spy
like crows
squawking on
bare, winter
branches.

Let them listen
like wolves
closing in
for the kill.

Let them follow
like thieves
hunting in
dark alleys.

Let them for
we have nothing
to hide, least
of all our

resistance
shining like
millions of tiny
suns in this, the
blackest of nights.
