This death stalks its
victims for a lifetime,
hiding in the shadows
of what is called the
good life, until its moment
comes unheralded and it
strikes with vicious
certainty and conviction,
setting fire to the brain,
blowing the mind into
a raging, raggedy
forgetfulness, throwing
terror and misery into
the hearts of the fallen.
It waits on everyone who
lives a lifetime breathing
and eating and absorbing
the poisons manufactured
in this deadly toxic chamber
we call home. Your turn is
coming. Do you feel it?
