The Great Government Swine Flu Conspiracy

More than 230,000 cases of the Swine Flu have been confirmed world wide. About 2,100 persons have died. As much as one-fourth of America’s workforce may be infected by Swine Flu when it peaks in Winter, according to studies conducted by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

CDC scientists isolated and developed the seed strain of swine flu. Working furiously to manufacture the vaccine are five major drug companies, which received about $1.8 billion in federal funding to produce the anti-virus. Leading the testing, analyses, and education campaigns about the swine flu, in addition to the CDC, are the U.S. Public Health Service, the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the Federal Drug Administration, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in addition to the Department of Health and Human Services, which developed the National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza protection.

Testing of the vaccines on human subjects is being done at eight major U.S. universities and hospitals, which received federal funding. The federal government is also providing about $260 million in grants to state health departments to give the vaccine at no charge to people who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover vaccinations.

In several European countries, which are producing about 70 percent of all vaccines for a worldwide population, most research and production is being funded and carried out by government agencies.

But if you listen to the multi-millionaire conservative bloviators of talk radio and Fox News, or the shrill screeching of a minority of tea-baggers and conservatives at dozens of town hall meetings, you hear one theme. These right-wing loonies say they don’t want the government involved in health care. No government. Get government out of their lives. Government is evil! The well-orchestrated campaign against health care reform focuses upon shouting over any attempt by members of Congress to present the truth about health care bills. Apparently, they believe the health care crisis is a sports game; whoever shouts the loudest to drown out everyone else gets the most points.

If these harpies of the right are all-so-determined to stop universal health care, if they don’t want the government in health care, then I have a couple of suggestions.

First, because the baggers scream “socialist” at anything they don’t approve, they should refuse to accept Social Security or Medicare when eligible. If they’re veterans, they should refuse any VA medical programs, and reject any disability income.

Next, when the swine flu vaccines are ready for distribution in Fall, the opponents of health care reform should refuse to be vaccinated. That’s right. They need to stand by their principles, and not get the vaccines. After all, by their bastardized strain of logic, anything with a government stamp on health care must be suspect. They may even believe the massive public education campaign by the federal government is just a scare tactic, that the vaccines—primarily researched, tested, and funded by the federal government—may even be part of a secret conspiracy by the federal government to control Americans’ minds and make everyone Communists.

Nevertheless, whatever their beliefs, when the Swine Flu vaccine is ready, the opponents of the “intrusion” of the federal government into health care just need to say “NO”! but don’t say “no” for the rest of us.

Love it. In fact, right-wingers should stop drinking water that’s been treated by a public treatment plant – and they should make sure their sewage is piped directly (thru privately owned pipes or maybe trucks) to rivers rather than going thru a public sewage treatment plant. And – they should give up their tax and interest subsidy on their homes, which they receive on their income taxes.

you’re absolutely right – I am one of those right-wing nut jobs, and I will be refusing the vaccine for myself, my daughter and my husband – why you ask? b/c the numbers of microbes, antibiotics, chemicals, heavy metals and animal byproducts is staggering. Would you knowingly inject these materials into your children and yourself?

these vaccines are going to be available while they are still yet being tested to make sure they are safe – and they are only followed for a couple of weeks, not for long term effects – we KNOW that vaccines cause arthritis, Alzheimers, diabetes, Autism – oh and the last bunch of swine flu vaccines (in the 1970’s) caused up to 500 confirmed cases of Gillian-Barr syndrome –

So you left-wing nut-jobs go ahead and line up for the vaccine – there may be less of you to deal with by doing so –

No, no… you see, they want to own the commons… to drive it down into the hole so it’s price tag can be negotiated more easily because they have ruined the economy, bankrupted the state. defrauded the state agencies and given its no-oversight contracts to themselves and their buddies. When they finally own the air and the water, they will lease it back to us at 29.75% APR (pollutants no extra charge).

Candy -unfortunately for you, right-wingers will be in the front of the line to get their shots, just like normal people. And I just KNOW you’ve had vaccinations in the past, and are happy you got them, because you’re sorry ass might not be here without them.

I’m not a wingnut, but I have read pieces by reliable investigative journalists and by physicians who spell out the very good reasons why the risks of taking the vaccine are greater than the benefits, and the guaranteed benefits are really only to Big Pharma. I want single-payer public health care for the U.S., but that should also mean health freedom from control by Big Pharma and Codex Alimentarius. This writer is vastly uninformed. There are few good journalists these days, and even fewer professors of journalism. I never read books by journalist pundits who pretend to be historians.

I think this blog is as uninformed as all the rest of the public including our Representatives. The Bill before Congress is needing to get the spending out. Also the vaccines do and will cause more harm than good. Fact – if you have symptoms run to the doctor. No more needs to be said.
Also Ojos Criollos is exactly right. The Big Phara and some Insurance companies control the President and congress. Just look at the $ they spent on reelection and etc. As for right wingers saying that the left will as for their Social Security and the Vets for their portion. You darn right and they paid in advance for it. As for the Right wingers look how the govt (Dems and Reps) have bankrupted the Social Security and Welfare and Medicare/Medicade. That is exacty the problem with this Health Care reform Bill. So think outside the box and find another solution.
Me and my family have Lyme disease. The panel on Cigna Health Ins which consisted of doctors of plastic surgery and not of infectious disease denied all our claims. This cost us a 100,000 dollars. I finally threaten a lawsuit and they paid up. I could prove that the panel didn’t know what they were doing and that the doctor that is saving us was not experimenting on us. Me and my children have a chance to live now. You want a panel to decide on you or your little children? See the documentary “Under Our Skin” and then answer.

I used to follow these right wing conspiracy theories until this healthcare debate made it blatently clear to me what fear mongers they actually are.

Death panels!! OMG They’re going to kill grandma. Death Books!! OMG They’re going to kill the veterans. Deadly swine flu vaccines!! OMG They’re going to kill 90 million U.S. citizens to depopulate America.

I can’t make up my mind which part is the most ironic but the bottomline is, why on earth would a government try to overhaul and fix a healthcare system if they care so little about human life? Not to mention that after they kill everybody off, who’s going to pay for it!??
Why even bother with a healthcare debate at all?

I suppose the logical conclusion to this debunk, from the right wing nuts, would be the evil government is tricking everybody so they can get us healthy and fattened up before they throw us in FEMA camps for the Soylent Green conspiracy. “It’s people!!”

No Nancy. They just want to be in control. So they keep us sick and needy or feeling sick and needy but not to worry because they have the answers and this is the best and most powerful country in the world. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the American government knows what they spew. For instance, we are one of the worst when it comes to preventative medicine, we are one of the unhealthiest in the world!!!! Yes, our emergency medicine is great, big deal!!! But yet, American’s are brainwashed enough to repeat “we have the best healthcare system in the world”. NOT TRUE. As for trying “to fix or overhaul” the system, that is not what the healthcare proposal is all about. It is about the taxpayers paying for universal healthcare. It is not about better care or the fact that healthcare is ridiciously overpriced, NO, it is about taking more money out of the pockets of the hardworking American s. Let’s really fix health care but let us do it as people working together. WHY do we constantly want the government to bail us out. They only have their pocketbooks in mind.
