Out the back of his head blows the lies
The promises. . . broken
The myths. . . embedded

Sprayed out like red foam
come the TV images
Stolen words
Hijacked ideas
False pride

Splattered on his buddy’s shirt:
manufactured memories
values instilled by repetition
opinions bleached white

He bought into it
a sales pitch so lethal
it should carry a warning. . .
like cigarettes
