Imho it would be nice if Alan Hart shifted his (zionist) Judeocentric viewing point to the human rights (and the victims of the genocide in historic Palestine). Then maybe he could see Israel for what it is, ie an

I find it curious that someone could expect a “confrontation” with “the Zionist lobby” by Obama, who was described by Mel Levine, former Congressman and AIPAC Board Member, in this way:

Alan Hart sums it up very well. We need more Alan Harts and Ilan Baruchs!
This account describes Zionism in its true colours. The Zionist expansionst designs, and the determination to practice oppression and defiance of international law, are unchanging, starting from David Ben Gurion to Binyamin Netanyahu.

On top of that comes the submissive US presidents, intimidated by the Zionist lobby, and allowing Israel to wage war and war crimes without questioning, using, in the final analysis, the US veto in the Security Council.

This demonstrates clearly the charade of the so-called peace process that will bear no fruit and allow Israel to continue its expansionist designs, and using the phoney charge of anti-semitism or self hatred against anyone who dares criticise Israeli oppressive policies.

Well said! The antics of the neocons have turned Israel into a worldwide pariah state, something it previously was only in the Arab world. Most importantly, they alienated Europe by “stealing the peace dividend”, so to speak, by trying to “turn NATO around” and make it, not an instrument of peace, but an engine of war on behalf of Israel. The “European street” wasn’t having that at any price! Hence, the “dry run” in ex-Yugoslavia, an still ongoing fiasco, and the twin disasters in Iraq and Afghanistan, to say nothing of the fiasco in Georgia, the hyping for war with Iran, the attempt to “unwin” the cold war by setting Europeans once again at each other’s throats and the current hyping of an invasion of Libya, have turned Europeans, who after now nearly 100 years of continuous warfare, hot and cold, just want to be left in peace, against Israel. There is, indeed, hardly a single problem currently faced by the world which is not caused, or aggravated, by Israel’s existence! .
However, Israel will not be overthrown by external force. It is about to disappear quite simply because, increasingly, like the Soviet Union, neither its leaders nor its people believe in it any more. In practice, I think that the Israeli elite, and the mainstream Israel Lobby in the US, accept privately that Israel is an unworkable illusion. They are just playing for time until the American dinosaur keels over. The “American Empire/Israel always wins” line is now a speciality of the lunatic fringe in Israel and their neocon/leftist supporters in the US. Of course, the Israeli elite may wait too long, or be taken by surprise by events, as has happened with the Arab revolt. But that is a story for another day.
