There has been a completely sickening volte face from Clegg when he spoke to the Liberal Democrat Friends of Israel at a lunch in London on November 11th. He is supporting the change in the law on universal jurisdiction. Complete treachery and he betrays the Palestinians who are under the yoke of oppression by the occupiers. He is nothing but a hypocrite.

The law as it stands is quite effective. Israel escapes the law only if nobody acts, which is how the Coalition wishes to arrange things in future. Then everyone can sup tea at Buckingham Palace with the war crimes glamour girl, ask for her autograph and live happily ever after.

Sadly, the Liberal Democrats, in their association with the curreent government in Brittain and the proposal by William Hague, are abusing the terms of liberalism and democracy that they claim to bear. If this Hague proposal is carried out, Tzipi Livni and Avigdor Lieberman will be hosted as welcome guests in Brittain no matter what crimes and violations of international law they may have committed.

Is that the new defintion for liberal democracy?!!!

Universal jurisdiction is the “justice” of the mighty and, no doubt for that reason, the mighty are never made amenable to it. There is already an excellent alternative in the form of the International Criminal Court and it is not the Lib Dems, or even the Tories, who object to that court. It is the Israel Lobby-dominated US. And pending the collapse of the American dinosaur, there’s nothing the Lib Dems or anyone else can do to change that situation. Attack the wrongdoer, not the helpless victims!
