As long as fossil fuels are the cheapest energy, we will not solve the addiction. There will be more mountaintop removal, longwall mining, tar sands, deep ocean drilling, shale gas, seeking the last drop in the most pristine places.
We must put a fee on carbon, collected from fossil fuel companies, with all proceeds distributed to the public. One hundred percent or fight!
Most people will get more in the monthly green check than they pay in increased energy prices. Our economy and innovations will be stimulated. We will move to clean energies. James Hansen

Coming soon: The Million Letter March -- The Write Way to Stop Climate Change
Despite a drought that has caused Russia to cancel wheat exports, despite flooding that has displaced 20 million Pakistanis, and despite a dependency on oil that produced the worst ecological disaster in America’s history, Congress has failed once again to enact legislation to mitigate climate change.
What will it take to get our nation’s lawmakers to act? How about a million letters?
On October 9th, Citizens Climate Lobby and others will launch the Million Letter March, a campaign to generate a million personal letters to members of Congress, asking them to enact effective legislation to deal with climate change.
The letters have to be personal, meaning that our writers can’t simply copy and paste talking points or a letter that’s already written. A personal letter -- that is signed, placed in an envelope and sent to a member of Congress – carries the greatest influence with decision-makers on Capitol Hill. A million such letters will create the political will necessary to overcome the special interests who profit from the current stalemate in Congress.
Letter-writers will post a copy of their letters to the Million Letter March Web site so that we can track the progress of the campaign. Resources and tools will be available on the Web site to help people write their letters.
The main message we’ll deliver with these letters is to ask Congress for legislation that places a gradually-increasing fee on carbon-based fuels so that clean energy becomes competitive within a decade. Revenue from that fee will be returned to all households to defray the increased cost of energy. Carbon-trading schemes and offsets will be discouraged as ineffective.
Spread the word and look for the launch of the Million Letter March on Oct. 9th.

And will this do any good of course not you have to want to work together use reason think anew and we are light years away from that rather easy to see. To wait of course well to late is to late. Here in the States after the elections in November should give us more signs and not good one's the choices are bad and worst.

Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice . You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear.”
– George Carlin

The crucified planet Earth,
should it find a voice
and a sense of irony,
might now well say
of our abuse of it,
"Forgive them, Father,
They know not what they do."

The irony would be
that we know what
we are doing.

When the last living thing
has died on account of us,
how poetical it would be
if Earth could say,
in a voice floating up
perhaps
from the floor
of the Grand Canyon,
"It is done."
People did not like it here

"They try to enjoy this material world to the utmost limit and therefore always engage in inventing something for sense gratification. Such materialistic inventions are considered to be advancement of human civilization, but the result is that people grow more and more violent and more and more cruel, cruel to animals and cruel to other human beings. They have no idea how to behave toward one another. Animal killing is very prominent amongst demoniac people. Such people are considered the enemies of the world because ultimately they will invent or create something which will bring destruction to all.
