However, the tragedy here is that the US and EU are not willing to take any action to put a halt to Israeli aggression and restore to Gazans and Palestinians in general their basic human rights and freedom from this illegal oppressive occupation, that has been allowed to stand for decades.

The reason for that is probably US economic blackmail of the kind we have seen in regard to Greece and now, to Spain. Essentially, as long as the US supports Isrfael to the hilt, and until such time as US power collapses (and it is probably only the latter which will bring about the former!), no other country on Earth has any weapon other than rhetoric, and it even has to be careful with that!
