To Fidel's and Raul's defenders I have two things to say:
1. “Freedom only for the supporters of the government, only for the members of one party – however numerous they may be – is no freedom at all. Freedom is always and exclusively freedom for the one who thinks differently. Not because of any fanatical concept of ‘justice’ but because all that is instructive, wholesome and purifying in political freedom depends on this essential characteristic, and its effectiveness vanishes when ‘freedom’ becomes a special privilege.” Rosa Luxemburg

2. We are not stupid, every voice opposing Fidel and Raul is not a voice in support of US imperialism. The Cuban revolution has failed and the only thing keeping it alive is the US embargo. It is a disguised dictatorship with a few socialist program. One day the workers will rise up against this phony regime.

God Bless Cuba, venezuella, vietnam, korea, bolivia, and china. People of thse lands have the greatest wealth: each other.
Once people taste that, no force can annul it! Gangsters in democratic countries also have each other but they are not of or with the people!

And more and more people in these socalled democricies realize that they are ruled by kleptocracies or gangs which behave no differently than people in a biker or cosa nostra gangs. tnx

I'm afraid I must differ from the author in one respect. I welcome Zapata Tamoyo'sdeath, and fervently hope all the other Rightwing psychopaths who make life on this planet such a nightmare of despair, deprivation and violence can be persuaded to follow his example.

Dear Ike Nahem, thank you very much for this comprehensive essay mentioning all the important elements of the US policy towards Latin America and especially Cuba. You are confirming my information and partly supplementing it. For instance, I did know scarcely anything about militaries as McCaffrey, so far.
I copied all for having them ready to hand.
Well, additionally, you confirm my impression that the perspective of the release of the Cuban Five by political diplomacy is worst than ever.
Being engaged in trying to publish the case in Germany despite the media blockade here, which is related to the US media blockade, I think we must unite and improve our means for reaching public opinion.
I wonder, if you could not write such a comprehensive article about the case of the Cuban Five, and if dissident voice would post it.
Of course the knowledge of the case would concuss the prejudices about Cuba. This might be regarded as dangerous even in this forum.
What do you think of it?
