It was not my intention to suggest that the White House and establishment Democrats in the Congress have fought as hard as they might have and should have for substantive health care insurance refrom. In the second paragraph of the piece I pointed to “the public option that is seen as essential to reform by many Democrats.” Obviously, and very unfortunately, there are far too few of those Democrats in the Congress and the White House! While I might have made my thinking in that regard clearer, I reject the charge that my article about Joe Lieberman, his ties to the insurance industry and the defense industry, and his committment to Israel right or wrong, along with his key role in preventing any meaningful investigation of rampant government corruption by SCHSGA , gives the Democratic Party establishment a pass on health care insurance reform or “perpetuates the lies of Obama and 99% of the Congress.”

It is the deplorable lack of accountability for corruption, fraud, and malfeasance, a direct result of nonexistent oversight and investigation by the SCHSGA, that perpetuates business as usual in Washington, which is a cesspool of special interest money and influence. Much of the money that corrupts Washington politicians is readily available precisely because lucrative crimes and excesses go unstudied, uninvestigated, and are not prosecuted. When there is no accountability, corruption in government flourishes. I might have addressed Obama’s and the Democratic Party establishment’s failures more directly, but those are not the focus of the article. Joe Lieberman, his ties to powerful special interests and his ardent support for a foreign country, at enormous cost to America and Americans, and his role in the Senate as the chief obstruction to accountability in government operations, is.

Lieberman’s political manuevering on health care insurance reform is an important part, but only a part, of a larger picture. It is well worth recalling that the Senate Democratic leaders had an opportunity, and many Democrats saw it as a responsibility, to strip Lieberman of his chairmanship of SCHSGA after he left the party, ran successfully as an Independent, and actively campaigned for the Republican candidate in the general election. They declined to do so. Why?

The inability of Official Washington to function effectively, honestly, and more or less transparently in behalf of the best interests of the American people and the common good, a direct result of partisan politics and the corruption of government by powerful and influential special interests, may well bring about a catastrophic economic collapse in this country. The Senator from Aetna, Israel, and War, Inc., plays both sides of the fence politically while blocking any semblance of accountability for corruption.

Let’s not forget how pro-lifers are stealthly gutting abortion access as their Congressfolk work language into the bill denying access to abortions – even if the woman pays for it with her own money. Most damning is how Congress (including all those pro-choice females who women’s mags always award with honors – despite their imperialist, warmongering, and related evil doings) and your President have agreed to this language. What’s next? Denying coverage for contraceptives too? Oh joy. More unplanned pregnancies that turn into more people who need insurance. Oh well. At least this provides the insurance industry with more customers.

It’s past time so-called proponents of real health reform stopped acting as if Obama and Congress aim to do anything about this issue that will truly help people have access to affordable, quality healthcare. I am sick of the constant babble from those such as the author who regurgitate White House propaganda and perpetuate the line that Republicans and Joe Lieberman are thrwarting Obama’s quest to do what’s right for health care – even AFTER these babblers see the debate has been steered and the bill has been crafted by and to benefit insurance and drug companies.

If Gillespie and others really give a damn about health care, they need to stop perpetuating the lies of Obama and 99% of Congress and work to quash this sham reform plan and fight like hell to get a single payer bill.

According to Taibbi & Kuttner, Obama manipulated the public to get the CURRENT bill to satisfy his sponsors, the Wall Street fat kids. Obama DID NOT want a public option, contrary to current belief; rather he used ‘public option’ in the beginning to frighten Republicans to bring them on board for the current bill.

According to Taibbi & Kuttner Obama LIES when he recently said, 60 minutes, “I did not run for the office to help bunch of fat kids on the Wall Street.” This lies are said to fool the public. On the contrary, he, with the leadership of Rahm Emanuel has done everyone to help the fat kids on the Wall Street.
Despite all lies and deceptions, the zionist lobby and its puppet, Obama, some of the ‘progressive’ groups cannot criticize him harshly because it may ‘help’ the Republican Party. He said the lack of ‘social movement’ in the United State makes it hard to go after Obama, the Jewish president. One must ask who is responsible for lack of ‘social movement in the United States? I know, for example, the reason behind Iranian ‘socialist’ support of zionist project was the misleading information coming from the European ‘socialists’, majority of whom were trotskysts, and the role of the leading public intellectual of sixties and seventies era, Paul Sartre who was supportive of Israel and Zionism.
American people must be united to bring the lobby down as soon as possible. Obama is a liar according to all informed opinion and serves no one except the Wall Street to keep him in the WH. He is expanding the war to help Israel expansionist policy.

I am a pacifist Jewish Zionist, and hate the idea of linking health reform to Israel–but is this the fault of the author and Parry due to antisemetism–or is it the fault of Liberman flip-flopping on Medicare expansion and therefore inviting speculation about his motives?

While I disagree with Sen Lieberman’s position on expanding Medicare down to age 55, the venomous and racist diatribe by Michael Gillespie is nothing short of classic textbook fascist propaganda.

I don’t think it right to have him shoulder all the blame and that’s quite the leap to me in assumptions about sabotaging President Obama in the Middle East since he’s shown little sign of being a president with a new ideology regarding Palestine. He shows no signs of being the maverick there..

The factual indications for reasons regarding strong conflict pf interests are indeed very valid to me though.
