It took a brave man to write this. It will take an even braver President to do it!

My hat is off to Alan Hart.

It is past time to take off the gloves... 'way far past time! It is time to find out which players are wearing the masks, and which side of the net they are playing on.

Like George Bush said, "...you are either with us or ag'in us!" It would be nice to know and have the President of the US show us just where he stands, with or against us.

The Jewish Lobby has long succeeded in control over US foreign policy and Pentagon. Its also maintain its iron grip over Germany, Britain and France. The latest show of its power is Congress criticism of Goldstone Report and last month we saw how Obama, Sarkozy and Brown jumped to the tune of Israel at G20 meeting in Pittsburg.

Thanks for posting, Mebosa. Your tone and militant illogic are a wonderful repackaging of Hitler's methods.

Fuck Israel, and all religious states. I hope to live long enough to vote for somebody with the guts to defund your pathetic, Jew-undermining nation-state and its fascist ideology.

I think that to US, israel had been in '46 a mere sprig, becoming a twig by '67, and a branch after that.
At one time, america to americans sufficed. Later the ruling class wanted and got more via invasions and puppetization of mostly c. and s. american lands.
However, with spread of communism, americans may have changed their minds ab. "enough".

And thus came the notion why not use any ally in the conquest of also the planet?
And especiallly one in proximity of the regions US/nato wanted to invade, dismember, and puppetize.

Curioso appears that all that cld have been achieved without Israel. But israeli military actions and threats against neighbors may be saving lives of US army and cia people; thus, US gratitude to the israelis.

And, of course, a peace with pal'ns, lebanese, syrians, et al, unless nato/US puppetizes them sufficiently, does not serve the tiny and impoverished [inter?]dependency like israel nor the world plutos, now united like never before in the quest to obtain planet.
Note, countries ruled by plutocrats no longer wage wars against other plutocratic or oligarchic evil empires or lands.
But just like in near east, nato/US/world despots will not allow for a long time any peace in also ME.
One cannot steal land politically; still less obtain it humanely; it can be done only thru warfare-occupations! tnx

I agree with Michael Dawson.

Michael asked, "how much evidence do you need to see...?" Let me assure you I share your frustration, Michael. Some people are just thick. They see only what they want to see. There's a whole crowd of sheep—particularly the D suckers who allowed themselves to be duped by Obama and his empty marketing slogans---who see the Ds (including war criminal Obama) as something that they are not. You and I could provide facts and credible article to these people. It would have no bearing on them. A waste of our time. These sheep say such things as “keep pressure on your representative or senator.” These sheep still don’t have a clue that these scum in congress don’t give a damn what any of us think because we are not their owners. All the politicians want is your time, $$$$$ and your vote. And some suckers are still dumb enough to give it to them. I have learned since 2000 that if people can't figure this stuff out on their own they are not about to figure it out by anything you or I say to them.

Repeatedly since 2000 I have said to these D partisan cheerleaders/apologists that the entire congress could consist of Ds and the Ds could have the White House as well and it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference. I said that in response to the D cheerleaders and apologists who kept saying, "gotta get Dems in." Well, we see the Ds now have the whole goddamned corrupt mess (which they helped to create) and nothing of substance is changing for the positive nor is about to, other than some window-dressing pabulum to pacify some suckers who routinely say, “you have to give them TIME.” Then we hear those D suckers who say, "vote out all the incumbents" or that “peel them off one by one” nonsense as if that would make a damn bit of difference. The new crop would be bought and paid for just like the current crop. Most people approach this party-line shit like they are two sports teams. Most people give unconditional blind support to some scum of the earth war criminal politician just because they have a D (or R) behind their name.

That party-line indoctrination is intense stuff. It’s difficult to deprogram without professional help, which most people aren’t going to seek.

And we know who’s in charge. Dick Cheney hasn’t gone anywhere despite all the “countdown" clocks that people had counting down the days remaining for the Bush regime. They are still in power just under another name.

Alan Hart's analysis of the conflict and the impact of the Israeli lobby on US foreign policy is balanced and relevant. However, his argument, that that the Palestinian refugees, who were systematically cleansed from their homeland, should be denied their fundamental Right of Return to their homes because 60 years on, it is not practical and woild mean the "de-Zionisation of Israel" and the "end of Zionism's colonial enterprise", is beyond comprehension. The passage of 6o years is the result of Israel's defiance of international law and UN resolutions. Should Israel be rewarded for this continuing defiance? And are we to understand that "Zionism's colonial enterprise" is a valid and holy enterprise that must not be challenged? This Zionist colonial enterprise is based on a racist colonial design that should be condemned and denied legitimacy. Surely, the de-Zionisation of Israel and the creation of a secular democratic state with equal rights for all those who live on this tortured land, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, should be a desired objective that could bring peace and security for all the citizens in this land.

Defiance of international law should not be rewarded and justice must remain supreme.

There is sufficient wiggle-room in the Saudi peace offer to negotiate a just solution to the Palestininan refugee issue. It need not be amended. On the other hand, who can speak for the refugees but the refugees themselves? It is they who must be consulted, it is they who must give consent to any deal struck between Israel and the Arab nations.
Returning to the Saudi offer, it is whole and complete. Israel rejects it because to accept it would mean going back to Israel - the last thing they want to do.

And no, Jerusalem should not be an open city. That's about as workable as asking Serbs and Muslims to share Sarajevo. If down the road, Palestine and Israel agree to do that - then by all means. But for now, the more autonomy Palestinians can achieve, the better. East Jerusalem, including Haram al-Sharif must be Palestinian. The other 'quarters' of the Old City can vote on which country to join.

Don't expect any breakthroughs soon. Whenever, Clinton or Obama get out of line - Netanyahu reads them the riot act. And appeals to congress members' sense of patriotism will not win them over - they don't want to be removed from office - so they too tow the line.

Why in the world do you imagine Obama is somehow outside power? Jesus, how much evidence do you need to see what's massively obvious. This guy is a fraud!

Meanwhile, as Chomsky says, you don't speak truth TO power. You speak truth to the people ABOUT power. Power doesn't give a crap about the truth.

P.S. Israel is our baby, not our daddy.
