I’ve contributed to DV from time to time, mainly from a Left-Zionist perspective. Lately I’ve stayed away from posting here, both for personal reasons ( I have a life ,after all…) , but also because of the deterioration in the “discussion” to childish name-calling and personal attacks.
I think that differences can be expressed forcefully –even vehemently – while maintaining a courteous and civil tone.
Let’s call each other by the names we chose to write under, let’s show some mutual respect, let’s have a sane and rational discussion.

Some 60% of all capital invested in Palestine from 1933-39 was channeled thru agreements with the Nazis. As part of the deal the World Zionist Organization began soliciting customers for Germany. Israelis have no problem but their own inadequately developed sense of humanity – or should we say warped sense of their own importance. Basically, Europeans understand that if Israel kept to itself, reactionary Islam would self-contain. A whole lot of Europeans were proud that Hazballa won that war. They thought it would teach the Jews a lesson. But as always, they absorbed the wrong lesson.

Noble savage? Speaking of guarantees, I can guarantee I have spent far more time (unless you did an IDF tour of Injun-killing in Palestine) in the WB&G than you have. Palestinians are not holy – but they are a generous and virtually unarmed people and YOU (YOU DECESCHI) are stealing their land and eliminating their culture. That makes you akin to – and as I’ve shown – a spiritual descendent of those who muddied about in the racial lebensraum waters of the mid-nineteeth century Germanic lands.

You seem so comfortable in your modern pseudo-leftist myth of the Noble Savage. But reality is always a bit different from our dreams.

I have just read Charlotte Silver’s moving account about an attempt to prevent the production of a play My Name is Rachel Corrie at Stanford University. She and her friend Amanda Gelender, the play’s producer, remind us that there are American citizens who are prepared to stand up for right.

In any case, the level of discourse here doesn’t even begin to equate the level of anger – and your level of hurt at the name calling doesn’t even begin to approach the crimes against humanity that you endorse.
