Obama is an orator, and the more his words soar, the more careful attention has to be paid to what he is saying and not saying. He is not a man of the people. He'd sell his own mother, as did Clinton, to make his presidency one of empire in charge. He's already sold out many in his quest. So be it. Whether it's health care , the environment, energy and other massively critical issues, ALL are tied to US militarism and war-making. One can simply NOT split the baby and end up with a solution. I also think the health care issue is as much about American consumption (on all levels) as it is about cost, access, and service. He sure is a great orator. There is nothing more dangerous than a great orator with an evil message. I thought that that was one of the lessons of history. He really sold those without money down the tubes - flushed to the bottom and soon to be forgotten. He helped those few doctors who are incompetent by bringing up tort reform. Really hurting injured/dead patients. He helped insurance companies. They soon will have a whole new captured group of customers. He abandoned the young, old, sick, soon to be sick, and all without enough money to pay to the extortionists on Wall Street. I am meeting more people of all ages who are psyching themselves up to just lock themselves in their homes when they get sick or are dying. The fear of doctors/hospitals and what they do if you owe them money is growing. I believe that the solution will not be found in the USA. Maybe the answer is to try to attract doctors from other countries who have a sence of compassion. Hugo already donates some oil to the US. Fidel has offered to send doctors. The root of the problem is a Perfect Storm between Wall Street's gluttonous need for profit and the US 'every man for himself' culture. I watched the President’s speech last night.
