The Zionist Left could not take a stance against racism without being scrutinized for the own hypocrisy in supporting Israel’s existence meaning limiting justice for the Palestinians. Therefore the rabid Zionist (ie. neo-cons) could be as brazen in their racism since they knew they would receive little confrontation their counterparts on the Left. Thus these Jewish Neo-Cons were among those who camped alongside the “Reagan (Counter) Revolution”.

The Zionist Left also help to suppress intellectual arguments on the economy as well especially any strong level of Marxist advocacy. While the right unfortunately took up the banner of increasing the awareness of the Federal Reserve debt financing of the economy.

Because the Left withdrew and it all cannot be blamed on 1950′s McCarthyism help to create the void filled by reactionaries. Now that the really is a crisis afoot the Left because of its drift to the right is ill-prepared to combat the current crisis of economic and societal proportions.

Another example, today the house recinded ACORN’s funding. This was the source of jobs for many in poor communities. I don’t see any Left rally or marches going on to defend this group who were squarely set up. Yet I find it amusing that Richard Oxman believes he can take the California governorship with his ill-conceived scheme.

There is a lot of work that needs to occur first especially to rebuild the Left into a real fighting force for progressive change. There work has to start with a Left that truly BELIEVES in the values of justice, equality and fairness and build a real solidarity with people of color in order for any kind of real challenge to Capitalism and racism to emerge.
