No wonder Israel and Afrikaaner South Africa were such close allies. The demand that Israel be recognised as a 'Jewish state' was always an open declaration of Israel's apartheid status. The continued third-class status of Israeli Arabs, the constant threats from the Right of 'transfer' or expulsion, the increasingly nasty repression under the current Netanyashu/Lieberman racist regime, all illustrate Israel's real character. Of course to maintain the lie that Israel is a 'beautiful' and 'moral' country, it is essential to re-inforce hatred of Moslems and Arabs throughout the Western world. The Israeli Lobbies in Western countries take the lead in this hatemongering and demonisation, and the dominance of the mass media, in ownership and opinion pages, of Rightwing Jews, sees this process further intensified. Here in Australia the steady stream of Islamophobes and apostate Moslems eager to demonise their former religion, are almost invariably guests of some Zionist group or another. The opinions pages and the mass media have banished Palestinian voices, except for a very occasional utterance from some Fatah Quisling. Arabs and Moslems are only allowed if 'moderate' ie collaborationists who blame Moslems for the West's War of Terror against them, and totally exculpate the West and Israel of any blame. Jews are omnipresent in the media, predominately Rightwing, Likudniks, with the occasional lonely peacenik, say Uri Avnery, the extreme of acceptable opinion. Any criticism of Israel that somehow gets past the 'thought police' is immediately and viciously assailed as 'anti-Semitism'. The barbarity of Israeli state treatment of the Palestinians is part a typical colonial settler reaction to the refusal of the displaced indigenous untermenschen to disappear. It is partly the reaction of religious zealots who see themselves as the supreme beings of the universe to resistance from lesser beings. And, I believe, it is partly the desire of many Jews to be revenged, on someone, for the horrors of the Judeocide. The people actually responsible, the Germans and the West in general, who did so little to stop the slaughter, are too powerful to be made to pay, so the Palestinians have gotten the privilege of being the sacrificial scape-goats for Judaic vengeance and rage. Naturally I do not for an instant believe that all Jews think or act like this. I dare say there might even be a majority of Jews, worldwide, if not necessarily inside Israel, who are heart-sick at what is done in their name. But as in most Western capitalist societies, power is in the hands of the worst in society, and these psychopaths are bereft of pity or remorse.
