it does seem to me that US cannot fail in Iraq. Iraq, an evil empire, had always been a falure; US invasion and occupation might have, tho, s'mwhat or much more worsened the situation.

Had iraq had a well- developed democracy, such as norway and switzerland have, the three peoples of iraq wld have formed their own governance or been in a confederate alliance.

but being an evil empire like china, serbia, russia, UK, france, pak'n, india, iraqi empire cld be held together only be immoral means.
in an evil empire, one defends it by evil means or wrecks or tries to wreck it by evil means.

all this US knew, i assert! But expansion had to go on, no matter what.
The three peoples, which cannot get along, are now a great tool to US.
For US, it is an ideal situation: bases and occupation stays; blame for what goes wrong solely falls on iraqis.

democrtizing Iraq wld have been the worst thing that wld befall US. US planners, i believe, knew that. And not just in iraq but also india, pak'n, afgh'n, iran, other 'stans.
this was my analyses even before US attacked iraq. tnx
