Just wondering.

I live in a town where the ‘a’ word is much maligned. Being pro-a-word is tantamount to being called an atheistic, gawdless, communist.

Not that I mind much as being an atheistic, gawdless, communist – it is a badge I wear with honor. I also, stupid gawdless me, treat the whole gawd thing with disgust, and am a true blue Darwin Theory supporter. Why, I have even read the “God Delusion’ and have it in our school library.

As school librarian I had to watch as our ‘street law’ instructor had students do papers on ‘controversial issues.’ Isn’t it amazing that he never once had a student take a pro-A-word stance? Do you think they feared for their grades? Do you think the administration thought of such ‘brain-washing’ as inappropriate? Do you think that has stopped me, in the name of ‘collection balance,’ from having very pro-a-word books in the library?

But mask?

There is no mask … it is the same sort of thinking that causes the US to be in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan … and has caused us to be in virtually every country in the Western Hemisphere (including our not insubstantial presence in our ‘ally’ Canada) as well as in most countries in the world?

So, what mask?

Ann Newman isn’t afraid that the mask slipped … she is probably worried that her rhetoric, and that of her co-travelers in hate, could be blamed in whole or in part for the death of Tiller. If so, maybe it is time for her to worry about what justice really means … and why it is inappropriate to scream “FIRE” in a crowded building … her speech is not protected.
