Iran did not vote for the partition of Palestine nor Greece, Turky or any Arab state in the region. One state solution is the only solution left and is accepted by many palestinians. Israel hates peace because through war, terror, assasination, destruction and destabilization has been able to steal more than 86 percent of Palestinian's land and continue to do so. They are up against both the world's only superpower and a regional rogue state - with virtually no help besides lip service from some quarters. Since Palestinians favor a two-state solution, which polls have indicated for decades - then it is incumbent upon their supporters to advocate same. If and when Palestinians decide that a one-state solution is the way to go - then one should have no qualms about supporting that effort. I think we have to understand that the Palestinians are, for all intents and purposes, on their own. The continued power of inaction rules. Obama is not deviating from the status quo. Netanyahu (as his predecessors have all demonstrated) is playing the same game. In fact, Israel is so entrenched in this "game" that it is nearly impossible to imagine a real "two state" solution which is a moral compromise to begin with. I would prefer, for clarity of purpose, to use the term "bad faith" in regard to any "negotiation" by Israel. All negotiation has been done in bad faith. The solution for Israeli Jews is to look at the models in the world that have worked best for them and adopt it/them. A Jewish state is not a model that works for anyone. This lesson will be long and hard. The US will not show the way, except to find it can no longer throw military funds Israel's way; or through US bankruptsy/empire collapse. It will happen because there are no alternatives, however that condition is created. As long as Israel can use military power, there will be no solution.
