i assert that it had been the other way around: bolsheviks and mensheviks acted after millennial fascist rule.
communist were really on a mission to create a more equal society. However, socialist often fail socialism. Socialist/communists have failed for many reasons.
i don’t know all the causative factors for the failure of the communists to keep on building socialism; i’ll leave that for a scholar to tell us all the factors that caused end of socialism in USSR.

however, socialism might not ever disappear. In addition, there is incipient socialism in many lands and which may not be destroyed by fascist US/UK/france/germany/japan. tnx bozhidar balkas vancouver

Barry,I regret to inform you that fascism is the logical outgrowth of bolshevism , the second generation , if you will , or perhaps the third generation of Marxism . it is a very well known fact that Mussolini was a committed follower of Karl Marx early on . And that the rest of the fascist European parties have their roots in workers parties .

Mulga- While it is tragic, as you say, that Zionism has aped some of the features of Nazism – it is however, not ironic. Zionism was born in the era of European ultranationalism and came of age at the time and place of the society-wrenching ideological struggle between Bolshevism and the reaction to it – Fascism. While the early Zionists of Israel bragged of the socialist institution of the kibbutz, their policies and practices towards the indigenous Palestinians reflected the fascist milieu they came out of. It’s not for nothing that Zionists were on very familiar terms with Mussolini and Austrian/German Nazis. They admired fascism, detested liberal democracy – and would have thrown their lot in with the brown-shirts had not Jews themselves been on the list for removal.

Yes Barry, I fear you are correct. Western racism is as virulent as ever, and just as murderous. But as Greybeard said, these make Israeli racism absolutely undeniable, as well as the apartheid reality of Zionasty rule inside Israel as well as in the Occupied Territories, not that that will stop the Zionists denying any malevolence at all, compulsive liars being nothing if not consistent.Indeed these laws, although not being proceeded with yet, and others already enacted, are reminiscent of certain aspects of the Nazi Nuremberg Laws. It is tragic and ironic that Zionism has aped some of the features of Nazism, although not, yet, the worst. The most odious such imitation I feel is the clear belief of the Jewish religious Right, that Jews represent some sort of Herrenvolk, certainly in comparison with the Palestinians, who are openly portrayed as animals.
One must never forget that there are many decent Israeli Jews who oppose the increasing racism and brutality of their state, just as there were many Germans who opposed Nazism, while they could. Israel is still a more civilized state, internally than Nazi Germany, but their brutality against the Palestinians is not far removed from Nazi behaviour in Poland or Yugoslavia. The very mild criticism of Israel by Obama and his hypocritical ‘opening’ to the Islamic world, seem to have excited great angst in the Israeli Right. I do hope Obama trusts his security arrangements.

There is one GREAT aspect to this travesty–and that is it makes the racism of Zionism INDISPUTABLE! Along with denying opportunities to learn, work, how close are we to barbed-wire concentration camps? One of the great tragedies of Zionism is that the “fear” of anti-Semitism has silenced too many, hence depriving the racist of shame-producing criticism. Justice will prevail, but what shame will be earned by those embracing this racism?
