He destroyed the party within as per agenda. Re-election was never in the cards. Bob Rea was already, wait for it, a multi-millionaire lawyer @ the time of his call to office. Those elected around him were the working class whom had no idea of what they had got themselves into. I guess in retrospect, the elite gave the working stiff their chance at governance. Only problem was they stacked the deck from the very beginning starting at the top.
