Hi Hans,
it comforts me, that you are working together already also in favour of Leonard Peltier and other cases.
According to a letter from Gerardo Hernández, one of the Cuban Five and serving two life sentences plus 15 years, he is mentioning Mumia and Leonard also when complaining the injustice.
When I tried to visit your above mentioned website I got no connection, my be it will work within the next time.
By the way, we have a placard, which we use at demonstration calling for a fair trial of the three cases.
Although, there will be many others, especially concerning black people within the USA.
Good luck for all of us
and best wishes

Hi Josie,

nice to hear from you, and that you liked this new article. Myself and others in the movement supporting Mumia were very disappointed by the 3rd circuit and supreme court's rejections. I think this new campaign is a great way to fight back.

Everyone I know in the movement was also equally disappointed by the recent circuit and supreme court's rulings against the Cuban Five. While I was living in Philly. we had one demo explicitly done for the Cuban Five (as well as Leonard Peltier and the San Francisco 8), and at other rallies there are often speakers from the Cuban Five support committee.

One of the things I really like about the Mumia support movement is how multi-issue the movement is. And, when I went and visited Mumia a few years ago, he explicitly asked me to use his case, and the publicity that it generates, to spotlight the 'big picture' and the many other cases of injustice. So, at events, we'd always spotlight a variety of issues, and if you check out freemumia.com, you'll see many different cases and issues spotlighted.

So, yes, I agree that the cases of the Cuban Five and Mumia should be spotlighted together as much as we can, efforts should be coordinated. The folks in the Jericho Movement are doing good work to created a united political prisoner support network. Have you been to their site before?

Thanks again for the feedback.

Thank you very much, dear Hans Bennet, for describing this case again for hopefully many readers.
I know many people in Germany personally fighting for his freedom, and I belong to those having signed in favour of his release again and again, while being mainly involved in making the case of the "Cuban Five" more popular in Germany, as well.
I wonder, if there could not be a synergistic effect, instead of all the splitted groups fighting for special interests.
Concerning the prejudices having been visible in their respective trials there are many analogies.
Mumia Abu Jamal, as well as the "Cuban Five" are giving the applied injustice within the USA their faces.
Let us join each other.
