I’ve had to delete the vast majority of comments on this article. This article is about single-payer health care. Not the swine flu, not about South America, not about Nader, Chomsky, “minizionists” (WTF is that!? — a dwarf that works at AIPAC?), etc. etc. It’s about health care in the US. And the comment section is NOT for people to get into endless pissing matches about topics unrelated to the article at hand. I know a lot of articles are cluttered with said stuff, but we editors don’t have time to scrutinize every comment that comes in. We deal with that BS when we have time, and tonight I have the time. Off topic comments will be deleted. It’s not a matter of whether we editors agree or disagree with the comments — if they’re not relevant to the article in question, they’ll be jettisoned, plain and simple. If y’all want to have a discussion board that’s a free-for-all, by all means start one yourself. But not here.

I think if we switch to a single-payer system, more Americans will be able to start up their own small businesses and actually achieve their life’s goals instead of running the rat race and always ending up with an empty wallet/purse at the end.

Wow, Jeff so perfectly epitomizes the incoherent, reactionary nonsense that substitutes for political information in much of the population. It is a human right for health care to be afforded to everyone, and single payer is the most efficient, equitable, and effective system for delivering healthcare. It doesn’t have to be a clone of Canada’s system, either; there are many variations in Europe and pacific nations.

In 1965 the SIN number was introduced in Canada. To get one you needed to show proof of “Registration” of birth!

Thats right, “Registration”. Just like an animal or automobile.

You all figure out the rest.

There will no longer be “universal health care” in Canada. You call it “single payer”.

What a joke.

My solution to the whoa of the American Induvidual whom cares for freedom: All move to Canada and let the corporations make money with nothing.

Then you will see human abuse!
