What about my comment from yesterday?
Why is it deleted?
Was it because of my poor English as a German woman?

But no nation can base its survival and development on luck and prayers alone while its leadership fritters away every available opportunity for success and concrete achievement.
Ibrahim Babangida

The economy in shambles seems to take away from these so called elites and now this flu only adds to that. It's strange to watch some of these people on TV pretend not only to themselves but the people they talk to that they still know what they are doing or talking about. When you lie to yourself it's very hard to stay calm and at peace very hard. It sure seems that to bring back the economy with the same rules that got us here means only life get's harder. To watch us fritter away with the illusion of knowledge instead of using the real thing is sad and this is all done because it's bad for business. Well it looks like to fritter away every available opportunity for success and concrete achievement bad for business doesn't begin to explain it. I am still waiting for that change we can believe in. In real terms I am waiting for just one hard choice just one person to step up and tell the truth just once use reason for something other than profit. The fight is on ignorance or reason. Nice game of checkers

Don Hawkins, slow down. You are actually bringing concern upon yourself!

Investigation is the road to OH, salvation. SALVATION: when you have finally figured out that what you were looking for you had already found.

When you finally reach the point of "Well your all screwed and thanx for taking me along for the ride" syndrome, make sure you surround yourself with comfort.

Then you will begin to witness.

Every one have fun.

The World Health Organization raised its pandemic alert level for swine flu by one notch to phase 4 from 3.

Phase 4 is characterized by verified human-to-human transmission of an animal or human-animal influenza reassortant virus able to cause “community-level outbreaks.” The ability to cause sustained disease outbreaks in a community marks a significant upwards shift in the risk for a pandemic. Any country that suspects or has verified such an event should urgently consult with WHO so that the situation can be jointly assessed and a decision made by the affected country if implementation of a rapid pandemic containment operation is warranted. Phase 4 indicates a significant increase in risk of a pandemic but does not necessarily mean that a pandemic is a forgone conclusion.

Phase 5 is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.

Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way.

W H O just said this outbreak probably can not be stopped. In 1918 one big difference and that was in 1918 no air travel but like Mike just wrote we seem to have this little economic problem so what the hell full speed ahead. Oh I almost forgot full speed ahead at incredibly stupid speed is more like it. Yes these big time thinkers decided and must have known that air travel was the best way to move swine flu from country to country but I guess are risk takers kind of like those risk takers on Wall Street that has worked out so well and I guess just HOPED for the best. Who know's maybe we will get lucky we can always' HOPE.

I wonder does the people who make these decisions know something we don't? They must they are are leaders after all.

The housing crisis will also create a huge disparity among "houseowners" and non-houseowners thus widening the disparity between landlords and renters. This is an aspect that is missing from the discussion on the housing crisis. Landlords and homeowners are afforded huge tax breaks while renters get no subsidies for paying for their HUMAN need for dwelling.

This "gap" is something that requires more scrunity than it is receiving from authors who are focused on the housing crisis.
