Beware the Madoff Diversion!

Sure, there are crooks out there. But the overwhelming majority of actions by corporate directors and managers that have created today’s messes have been legal.

Not only legal, but also widely regarded as necessary and essential to sustain the American Way of Life. To put food on our tables. To heat our homes. To provide jobs. To defend liberty and freedom…

Simply put: Giant business and financial corporations govern. The few who run them make the governing decisions that dictate people’s work, living conditions, health and the nature of our communities.

Business and financial corporations are not simply “market players.” Although in legal terms corporations are mere “fictions of the law,” they function as political forces. They concentrate wealth and power so their directors and managers can impose their values upon communities, the nation, the Earth.

Corporate directors and managers have long defined how people live, what people do. Sometimes they take their paychecks from their corporations; sometimes, from our governments. For generations, they’ve been writing our laws, propagandizing our children, dictating policy, plundering the planet. To gain such power, they long ago got Congress, federal judges and state legislatures to wrap their corporate bodies in the Constitution of the United States. To bestow upon their corporate “fictions” the authority to govern.

Armed with “freedom of speech,” “due process” and “equal protection of the law,” the “commerce clause,” “the contracts clause,” and other constitutional powers, corporate directors and managers have been wielding the law to deny people’s most fundamental human rights.

Corporate directors and managers have been making “private” decisions, which in an authentic democracy must be made by people in community via democratic processes.

Their real bottom line is not that their corporations are “just too big to fail.” It’s that without giant corporations, we helpless human Earthlings could do nothing to meet our needs. That we would languish freezing, starving, unemployed, unentertained, vulnerable, in the dark.

After the great Savings and Loan thefts, after the great WorldCom and Enron corporation thefts — after every financial cataclysm of the past century — people have been assured that the problem was “greed and excess.”

There were always pundits and politicians galore to declare “greed and excess,” just as there were always Madoffs galore to personify such evils. So as night followed day, legislatures passed laws to regulate “greed and excess.” And then they told us to go home and relax . . . everything would be OK.

Sure, Madoff and his ilk are major crooks. They’ve caused great harm to many people. There are laws aplenty to deal with such obvious crooks — so they’ll end up in jail and good riddance.

But after the Madoffs of every generation are all locked up, most of the corporate directors and managers who “legally” plunged the nation into these messes continue governing over the nation. They keep instructing people that the source of the nation’s problems is “greed and excesses,” and “crooks.” They keep spending the people’s money to set things right. And they keep writing We the People’s laws.

Isn’t that what’s happening today?

Corporate directors and managers count on our being desperate to return to the way things were, on our not changing who’s calling the shots or the laws of the land which have long enabled a corporate class to rule.

So let’s not let ourselves be distracted by a few high-profile crooks on perp walks. Let’s beware “greed and excess.” Instead, we can scrutinize constitutional law and statute law and judge made law that have long empowered a relative handful of corporate directors and managers to deny We the People’s most fundamental rights . . . to prevent us from governing ourselves.

To stop corporate cataclysms from crashing down upon us and the Earth over and over and over again, and to drive human-friendly, planet-loving values into law and policy, We the People can rewrite basic constitutional doctrines regarding corporate “fictions,” flesh and blood human beings, and Earth rights.

To do this, we’ll have to assume the authority to govern ourselves.

Isn’t that a revolutionary idea!

    right on,
let us alight from skin deep ‘truth’ and look at the heart of the problems.
s’mbody governs; i.e., establishes structure of society, governance, jurisprudence [laws], police state [city police/fbi], ‘constitution’ [prostitution] and not me.

an individual may be punished, such as nixon [for far less than other goings on] but the structure remains.
in short, punishing ?bush, madoff, nixon, macarthur, et al is an excellent ruse to convince [?convict] a person on the street how honest and good the structure is. tnx

Madoff is bearly small potatoes. The problem isn’t the Ponzi schemes. Let’s be honest, anyone who invests with the idea of “making” money (unearned) rather than earning it, is gambling; and what Madoff did was criminal and way beyond someone investing in retirement.

But, of course, it is not the Madoff’s, who are publicly thrashed and trashed as if by doing so rids the world of the hideous greed that is the American corporate capitalistic system.

When Nader ran he ran solve the systemic issues. The American duopoly and the scads of “know better” yahoos who thought it would be such a great improvement to have a “man of color” as president and who is so undeniably smarter than the dope who’s been in the WH for the last 8 years, that better than, and lesser evil seemed “good enough”

We’re waaaaayyyyy beyond “good enough”. The world, the planet, cannot afford “good enough”. In the 60s perhaps the luxury for American hegemonic empire was “doable”. NO MORE. The jig is up and we go Mr. JFK/LBJ/FDR/Lincoln wannabe who has no thought about doing anything but saving the empire – he doesn’t what this corporate neanderthal to drop dead on his “watch”.

    The Tower of Babel’s collapsing
    And bankers themselves are caught
Their web of debt is everywhere
    And governments have been taught

    That should the bankers fail
Bankers’ credit will be no more
    And governments couldn’t spend
What they do not have in store

    So governments give our taxes
To the bankers without our say
So bankers can continue to profit
And continue to plague our days

We pay for even our bondage to debt
We pay for the chains we wear
And we wonder why our governments
Don’t know what from even where

But it’s all too clear and obvious
    The answers that we seek
For the rapacious and the greedy
Have always lived off the meek

But the bills for debts’ incurred
Will be paid by all concerned
    Including the bankers and government
On the slagheap they will burn

For we’re now in the final days
    Foretold in ancient times
    Spoken of by the prophets
    In rhythm and in rhyme

Fear not the tumult of the days ahead
    Fear not what may transpire
For a new and a better world will come
From the cauldron’s flame and fire

Buy gold. Buy silver. Have faith.

Great poem T_C, except for the last line. Our only hope, and a scant one at that, is to help our friends and neighbors to see the system for what it is–a self-destructive, earth-destructive, system that feeds a class of parasites much like heroin feeds heroin addicts. We must all become aware that “it is the [economic] system, stupid”. If we succeed in that, then we need to organize our friends and neighbors.

There is little time left because as I write, I am aware that we are probably passing climatic tipping points, or if not, we soon will be. If that wasn’t bad enough, then there is the ever diminishing energy sources. The present system only insures our demise by exacerbating these problems.

Keynes wrote in the Yale Review in summer 1933: ‘The decadent international but individualistic capitalism, in the hands of which we found ourselves after the [first world] war, is not a success. It is not intelligent, it is not beautiful, it is not just, it is not virtuous — and it doesn’t deliver the goods. In short, we dislike it, and we are beginning to despise it.’

I wonder what he would think of it now.

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers (Traducción al Español abajo)

Russian Intelligence reports are stating today that Israel’s incoming right-wing Nationalist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ‘ordered’ President Obama to release disgraced Wall Street investor Bernard Madoff [photo top left] or ‘risk full and total war’.

Not being reported in the United States about its worst ever case of financial fraud involving former Mossad agent Bernard Madoff is that the billions in funds collected from the wealthiest American-Israelis were used to finance Israel’s Global intelligence network reported to have been responsible for numerous attacks against its perceived enemies, including the catastrophic attacks upon America on September 11, 2001.

According to these reports, Madoff was the chief financier for a vast Israeli spy and sabotage network set up by former Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) director Jacob Perry (Yaakov Peri) who ‘transformed’ himself into one of America’s most powerful businessman and led what FSB sources call the ???????????? ????? 7 [English translation roughly means “Murderous/Fatal Gang of 7”] which references the leaders of this American-Israeli cabal who besides Madoff and Perry include:

Henry Taub, Hungarian born American-Israeli who created the giant United States payroll company ADP which continues to funnel to Israeli intelligence services financial records for nearly every US citizen.

Maurice Greenberg, American-Israeli who was the former chairman and CEO of American International Group (AIG), the World’s 18th largest public company and its largest insurance and financial services corporation which has (so far) funneled over $180 billion in US taxpayer money directly to Israel.

Larry Silverstein, the American-Israeli billionaire who secured a lease for the World Trade Center buildings in New York on July 24, 2001, insured them for $3.55 billion spread among 24 different insurance companies, and after their destruction 2 months later on 9/11 collected $4.55 billion for Israel.

Mort Zuckerman, Canadian born American-Israeli billionaire who through his vast publishing empire has direct control over 70 percent of the news reported in the United States.

Edouard de Rothschild, French born American-Israeli member of the all powerful European Rothschild Banking Empire and director of the Rothschild & Cie Banque reported by the FSB to hold nearly 80% of the wealth stolen by Israel from the United States Government and its citizens.

These reports further state that Madoff was ‘convicted’ in a ‘one of a kind’ designed trial in which his guilty plea kept all evidence against Israel’s betrayal of the United States from being entered into official American records as it was deemed by the Obama administration as ‘too incendiary’ for the American people to know about and would, most certainly, unleash an Israeli backlash many Russian Military Analysts state would leave ‘many US cities in ruin’.

Bringing Israel’s threat directly to President Obama, these reports continue, was Israeli Defenses Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi, who threatened the Americans that “an Israeli military strike was a “serious” option”, and which would ignite a Total Global War in which the very survival of the United States would be in the balance.

President Obama, however, appears ‘more than willing’ to confront the Israelis, especially after being informed of the full extent of Israel’s involvement in the 9/11 attacks and the other attacks planned by the Israeli assassination and sabotage teams sent into the United States posing as Israeli ‘art students’, and of which the Washington Post News Service reported on in the immediate aftermath of the attacks before going permanently silent:

“In addition to the 1000-plus Middle Easterners of the Muslim persuasion swept up in Ashcroft’s post-9/11 dragnet, it seems, some 60 Israelis were in custody. And these were no ordinary tourists: INS officials testified in immigration court hearings that this group was “of special interest to the government” – the same argument used to justify the detention of Arabs in connection with the investigation into 9/11.”

It is interesting to note too that during the past week, top American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported that former US Vice President, Richard (Dick) Cheney, headed a CIA assassination ring that these FSB reports state was specifically created to hunt down and kill ‘all Israeli agents’ found in the United States itself, or abroad.

These reports also state that President Obama in fighting back against the Israelis is fast finding that his first battles are those involving Israel’s stranglehold on his own government and Congressional leaders, and who just two weeks ago threw out the White House’s effort to name all lobbyists and their moneyed connection to US political, economic and military power centers.

President Obama suffered a further defeat with the withdrawal of Charles Freeman, whom he had picked to head the National Intelligence Council, but who in withdrawing slammed the Israel “lobby” strangling the United States by stating:

“The libels on me and their easily traceable email trails show conclusively that there is a powerful lobby determined to prevent any view other than its own from being aired, still less to factor in American understanding of trends and events in the Middle East. The tactics of the Israel Lobby plumb the depths of dishonor and indecency and include character assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the record, the fabrication of falsehoods, and an utter disregard for the truth. The aim of this Lobby is control of the policy process through the exercise of a veto over the appointment of people who dispute the wisdom of its views, the substitution of political correctness for analysis, and the exclusion of any and all options for decision by Americans and our government other than those that it favors.”

It is important at this point to note too how Mr. Freeman’s charges against Israel’s powerful lobby in the United States agree with those of the distinguished American professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, and who in their critically acclaimed book titled The Israel Lobby stated:

“Besides, the Lobby’s campaign to quash debate about Israel is unhealthy for democracy. Silencing sceptics by organising blacklists and boycotts – or by suggesting that critics are anti-semites – violates the principle of open debate on which democracy depends. The inability of Congress to conduct a genuine debate on these important issues paralyses the entire process of democratic deliberation. Israel’s backers should be free to make their case and to challenge those who disagree with them, but efforts to stifle debate by intimidation must be roundly condemned.”

To the current threats being made by Israel against the United States it is also important to note, these reports continue, that what the Jewish state wants for their now imprisoned agent Madoff is exactly what the Americans did for the leader of the former vast energy giant Enron, Kenneth Lay, and who prior to being convicted for what at that time amounted to the biggest corporate fraud in American history, but who was ‘rescued’ by the CIA who were the actual ‘founders’ of Enron and used its billions in fraudulent gains to support the vast Bush-Clinton drug empire, by falsifying his death and giving him a new identity.

To the final outcome of these events it is not in our knowing, other than to point out our present times most obvious historical comparison when during the late 1920’s American and European Zionist banking interests deliberately collapsed the World’s economy leading to the outbreak of Total Global War in 1939. It goes without saying, of course, that the Western World today is ‘not allowed’ to know the full and horrible truth about what is truly happening now, even though it has never been a great secret.

Perhaps this sad fact would be different if these Westerners were to remember the words of the great British Prime Minister and war leader Winston Churchill written in 1920 about what our World is once again facing….and be warned:

“Some people like Jews and some do not; but no thoughtful man can doubt the fact that they are beyond all question the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has ever appeared in the world.

The conflict between good and evil which proceeds unceasingly in the breast of man nowhere reaches such intensity as in the Jewish race. The dual nature of mankind is nowhere more strongly or more terribly exemplified. We owe to the Jews in the Christian revelation a system of ethics which, even if it were entirely separated from the supernatural, would be incomparably the most precious possession of mankind, worth in fact the fruits of all other wisdom and learning put together. On that system and by that faith there has been built out of the wreck of the Roman Empire the whole of our existing civilisation.

And it may well be that this same astounding race may at the present time be in the actual process of producing another system of morals and philosophy, as malevolent as Christianity was benevolent, which, if not arrested, would shatter irretrievably all that Christianity has rendered possible. It would almost seem as if the gospel of Christ and the gospel of Antichrist were destined to originate among the same people; and that this mystic and mysterious race had been chosen for the supreme manifestations, both of the divine and the diabolical.

In violent opposition to all this sphere of Jewish effort rise the schemes of the International Jews. The adherents of this sinister confederacy are mostly men reared up among the unhappy populations of countries where Jews are persecuted on account of their race. Most, if not all, of them have forsaken the faith of their forefathers, and divorced from their minds all spiritual hopes of the next world. This movement among the Jews is not new. From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States), this world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played, as a modern writer, Mrs. Webster, has so ably shown, a definitely recognisable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.

There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution, by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews. It is certainly a very great one; it probably outweighs all others. With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of the leading figures are Jews.”

Yes beware the Madoff diversion. But beware the anti-corporate ‘populist’ diversion as well. Populism is blind as to where class lines are to be drawn. The problem is capitalism. And while we should be happy to see reforms that soften its worst blows, no amount of changing laws, constitutional changes, and mere reformism will end the crises and brutality of the capitalist system. Even in a greatly reformed-for-the-better situation under capitalism, such reforms are always an inch away from being rolled back and the perogatives of capital still hold sway.

Gives O’bummer a great chance to front off as the Tribune of the People confronting the Idle Rich, while diverting attn from what the IR’s are really doing.

I would not be so quick as to think corporations have not bought much of the world and taken it as a private right.

Ah if all it was was a label – capitalism and we could banish it from our vocabularly and never in reality eliminate the real problem(s) while calling it something else.

Socialists/communists are trying to exploit the economic collapse for establishing socialist/communist New World Order. Today, copied Alexander Cockburn article blaming capitalism for the collapse. I wrote there this comment:

    “This is a lie, period.
Society is being destroyed because it is being run by people who are “executives”, but it must be run by owners. “Executives” have power to move billions of dollars that does not belong to them. The owner can only move his own money. The owner is capitalist and this is good. The “executive” is socialist/communist and this is bad. The “executive” minds only politics and he is corrupt, but the owner minds business. You cannot corrut the owner because all he has is his own money. As long as business is run by “executives” economy will remain corrupt.

The law must be made prohibiting anyone to “manage” money or business of which this person is not the owner.

So, just kill Jewish communism! People does not need unelected corrupt “executives” who are now put “in charge” of your money! They must be prohibited to make any decisions about you and your money. Kill communism!”

Really, people MUST educate themselves about the true nature of the present economic order in the West. Please, read this book:
Adolf A. Berle, POWER WITHOUT PROPERTY, 1959.
Berle was US Secretary of State, I believe. He showed in several books how capitalism was replaced by socialist structures. Today, there is no doubt in my mind that corporations have nothing to do with capitalism and private business, they are socialist institutions. That’s the cause of the collapse.

I think you should read Marx’s Capital to understand that it is not a “label”. Also the efforts by the ruling class to promote Capitalism (as indicated by the link in my previous post) and to stamp out Socialism is proof that your enemies do not view Capitalism as a “label”.

The issue is not what Marx says per se. It is what gets said in his “name” or in the name of “socialism”.

When the word “capitalism” is tossed out as if it explains all then I think there is a problem with identifying the problem.

I don’t know of a country on the planet that doesn’t have some form of “capitalism”. And there are elements of socialism in many countries as well, particularly Western Europe and to some extent Japan.

Those are the facts. Mine is not an argument for the predatory nature that we see in finance and corporations, to the contrary. I’m not arguing for “capitialism”.

To the population that never looked into the facts, capitalism is sold as label and slogan. I am saying that such words as capitalism, socialism etc. mean certain economic system. And I am saying that US economic system is socialist. The business and all the money are owned by the “people”, by shareholders. But it is run, managed by the “executives”. This was the system in former USSR. This gives corruption as a natural result. The executives have no interest in the business, only in their salaries. If this cannot persuade, look at the boards of directors – they are prohibited by the law (!) to have any stake in the business. They are supposed to be “disinterested”. This is a socialist system; it appeals to “integrity” and “ethics”. And capitalism is based on natural interest of the owners – it never has “conflict of interest”.

Neither for profit nor nonprofit entities should be allowed to be free from financial responsibility for their wrongful acts, including pollution, which is now government regulated to allow lots of it. That way people would be very careful about what products they sold, what pollutions they spread about, the quality of service they promised, etc. The only limitations should be contractual, for example a buyer agreeing that the liability for some defect in a product is twice the price – assuming of course there is no fraud in presentation and description of the product. Common sense justice instead of government-created protections for favored classes.

socialism is ownership and management of the means of production by the workers. what you are describing is not socialism. it is global capitalism.
the workers do not own AIG, GM, or ADM. wealthy stockholders do (and allow others to own small shares in order to think they do).
i do not own any company. i do not own the university i work in. obviously the world you are describing and the world we live in are two separate worlds.
if integrity and ethics is limited to socialism, then we should all be socialists, ehh?

The problem we have here is that Smith’s Wealth of Nations is pretty much unread by Marxists (many of whom barely understands Marx’s dialectical materialism, which is a life long venture down academia road).

Smith did not favor corporations or anything approximating such entities. These entities are not a derivative of capitalism. They are a pathology. Would socialism banish pathologies? I rather doubt it.

Again, this is not to support capitalism or to denegrade socialism, but to attempt to offer a clearer picture of the problem. Short handed answers about capitalism being the evil and socialism its good counterpart do not solve the problem and, is in fact, counterproductive.

Monopolization of resources and the creation of entities with full rights and priviledges of humans (i.e., corporations) is one of two critical problems. The other is the uneconomical growth that neither Marx nor Smith were tuned into. (Since Marx wrote in ambiguous terms, one can find just about anything that would show he “said such and such”, which is why using him reduces credibility.)

Tennessee-Chavizta, I looked at your website – and also the one you provided that cited Sorcha Faal.

From it is clear to me that you both are desparate to believe in something – no matter how distant from the realms of reality it is.

RE: “Only by understanding the true linkage between the ancient Arctic peoples mythology, and those of the Christians, Jews and Muslims, as Sorcha Faal states in this epic book, can the eyes of Western peoples be open to fully understand why on December 25th they celebrate in unison both Jesus (as this date was ordered by Rome to be the ‘official’ birth date of the Christ) and the ancient Norse god Odin (who is depicted as Santa Claus).
By coming to a full understanding of Sorcha Faal’s work one will also understand one of Nostradamus’ most important prophicies for our times…”

There are many things we don’t now know and many mysteries that we will never know, but coming up with these elementary, school child reactions to our problems will certainly not lead us in a positive, critical-thinking, common sense manner. As the wonderful singer/songwriter Iris DeMent says – just let the mystery be. Wise persons have more practical things to do. Like organizing among ‘we the people’ in our communities.

BTW, Acharya S at gives a much better ‘big picture scenero’ if you’re inclinded toward an analysis of organized religious beliefs.

This “Richard Grossman” looks like another gifted actor in ongoing psyops creations supported by the Elite ruling powers to deflect real attention away from the suppression & twisting of individual human rights, personal sovereignty-Liberty and self generated choice over our lives. It amazes me to see we the people so easily duped by clever charlatans and zealots of logic perversion who offer nothing less than the myth of socialism dressed up in fine new clothing. It has become clear as day that Socialism and other collectivist movements are the prime tool for subversion our freedom and human rights; an essential tool of the very elite hierarchy of wealth and power that such socialistic myths claim to hold as arch enemy #1. This irony is so audacious it defies the simple veneer of logic most people are able or willing to employ. Simply put if you don’t like the plantation masters of corporatism enslaving you a little here and a lot there, then why the hell would you want to place total control over your life in the hands of the puppets of corporatism through leftist mythological, ” People’s Party” governments. Wake up people… you are being cleverly lied to… if you take 90% truth and mix in just enough lie, the mind will accept enough distortion to have you walk gleefully into your own pair of shackles of the prison plantation. Friends, You have to think for yourselves or you’ll forever be a pawn in the rich folks evil games! They are diabolically clever. Question everything; be a true skeptic.
