Good assessment.

Porter has not proven himself as steadfast, and principled as journalists like Jeremy Schahill, and surprisingly, Juan Cole.
It’s this liberalish bent, vacuous box of status quo with a slight twist that makes Porter, so far, a fraudulent analyst.

C.I. of The Common Ills refuted Youssef’s assertion Feb. 6th; however, unlike Mr. Porter, C.I. didn’t carry water for Barack, she next noted Barack’s promise (“immediately upon taking office”) versus the fact that there’s still be no change in the Iraq mission and the White House is saying they’ll announce something in March.

If Gareth Porter were a little more balanced and a little less determined to enable/rescue Barack Obama at every turn, I’d consider him a reporter and not a cheerleader.
