I have self-referred as a socialist for sometime. The people that leave comments instructing what the ‘left’ (the so called ‘peoples’ wing) ‘ should and should not do are the ones that scare me. They are the idealists who have no clue of the reality of the shit they are in, they think that propaganda is Fox news, they cant see the deception in things like “democracy now” or even this website… MAYBE ITS A TRAP!!! I’m wondering what these guys (Sheppard and Whittle) were thinking, despite their ludicrous beliefs that insult victims of historical precedence, by seeking asylum in the Empire? They may as well have sought asylum in Israel.

But then, as we ‘rats’ over-populate the planet, we can expect some rather nasty events as we in the wealthy nations continue to hold down/back the masses from other countries. Even the poorest American is so much wealthier than the rest of the world’s really poor that we really need a new word to describe lack of wealth. ‘Les misrables’ pops to mind?

Certainly, people on the left sometimes get heated and fail to draw the line as to what is Zionist or Israeli and what is intrinsic to Jewishness. But that is in large measure because of the tenacity with which many American Jews fight on the behalf of Israel. And all of us who are male, or white, or well-off have had to endure situations where one of these classes of people took it on the chin. Hey, it goes with the territory.

I hope some here will take the time to read the pamphlet linked below titled “The Past Didn’t Go Anywhere: Making Resistance to Anti-Semitism Part of All of Our Movements.”

It presents a very principled approach, and one all of us on the left can learn from.
