How much more to the right can these people go. The scale only goes so far, surely! By the way, if you remove religion as a basis for establishing a political party in the Knesset, almost all of those parties would be outlawed. Interesing............... All of this will be music to Palestinian ears! I think Professor Cole is right about the one-state solution but there is one danger in it. The demographics of Mandate Palestine are roughly 50-50 Jews and Arabs, with the Arabs splitting 42% Muslim and 4% each Christian and Druze and the Jews splitting 34% native born, 16% foreign born. Let us imagine that, in that new state, Jews, using international Jewish money, buy up land at above market prices, thereby pricing the Arabs out of the market, and then settle Jews on that land. Since they've bought the land legally, no one can object but, little by little, they squeeze the Arabs out. Equally, supposing that Jews control the economy and the banking system, which is probable, they could marginalise Arabs into the worst jobs. Unable to get decent jobs or housing, there would be nothing left for young Arabs but to emigrate. Keep that up for about a generation and the whole of Palestine is Jewish!
