I tend to think that with all “deep events” as described by Peter Dale Scott and other commentators, there’s always more than meets the eye. While some in the so-called 9/11 “truth movement” obsess on what they believe to be “forensic evidence” of “controlled demolition” of the Towers, Building 7, etc., what falls by the wayside with these “inside job” explanations are 1) al-Qaeda as ongoing Western intelligence assets and 2) what the intelligence agencies were actually covering-up: the use of these assets for destabilization operations in resource-rich or strategic zones that imperialism seeks to control, the Balkans, Caucasus, Middle East, etc.

While someone obviously made money with the put options on the airlines prior to 9/11, I think that too, only scratches the surface of a larger problem: corporate globalization and the sociopathic nature of a ruling class that quite literally bought the rope with which various strands of neofascist fundamentalism–Christian, Hindu, Jewish or Muslim–seek to hang them with.

Unfortunately, the incoming Obama administration won’t change this.
