Today on CNN one of the reporters said that as Obama's train went into DC many of the areas along the route were the poor and impoverished and it is an embarrassment to see this in the United States, what. There are a few embarrassments to see in the United States and the poor and impoverished is not one of them. Did the poor and impoverished bring us to this point in our economy ah no and who did. Let's see Wall Street and that particular brand of insanity with the help of banks and media and so called leaders and corporations just to name a few. The poor and impoverished is an a embarrassment to see this in the United States give me a break people.

"in say 10 years will be the start of that rioting in the streets"

Don, I doubt it will take that long. Unemployment reached 7.2% at the end of 2008, and will likely reach 9.5% by the end of this year. That's about 28,000,000 unemployed people in the U.S. who will be angry/without the money they need to survive. They will not be able to get credit cards or loans due to the "credit crunch". How will they eat? Where will they live after the bank seizes their house? There are already growing tent cities around the U.S.. California is loosing people to emigration.

Things will start to change rapidly this year, IMO.

The inauguration of Obama will cost 150 billion welcome to dreamland. I don't know what it is like where you live but the story is the same for many people where I live rural Georgia. Things just stopped about three months ago. Food is now first on the list.

What we are seeing now is trying to keep a system going that my kids and there kids and me in say 10 years will be the start of that rioting in the streets Mike talked about. I heard Barack talk about Bush last night on TV. The way he did it was like Bush just had this hard job and he did his best, bullshit. Unless people can start working together and solving some very hard problems the biggest human's have ever faced and do it to save our ass not profit the rioting in the streets will be the good part. Short term thinking isn't going to get it anymore. The push is on if you watch TV news like I do to keep us all in dreamland sort of. Some truth but on the big stuff more bullshit. I still think 2 million to start one voice could help at calm at peace.

Lotteries are a regressive tax. It's time to restore progressive taxation. Rollback Kemp/Roth.

One way to get money into the hands of spenders is to subsidize the casinos and the lottery. Lets get those payouts up to 150%. And the lottery could use a lot more winners. Instead of one person winning 65 million, we could have 65 million people winning a hundred million. Hey, it's time to get creative!!
