Farmers of Forty Centuries is a book written inthe early1900's by one of the leading soil scientists of the time who was sent to study Korea,Japan and China .It was recognised eventhen that the USA soil had been severely degraded.
Colin Tudge;s penguin book "So Shall we Reap" written in 2003 spells out solutions and the present state of crisis that we see today.
Politics dominated by the FIRE economy (finance ,insurance, real estate) is infantile and totally inadequate to the task that requires an overturn of the metro centric civilisation (from the Greek to make city)
that is destroying the fragile underpinning ecosystems that we are ultimately dependent on.

Appreciate the 'sentiments' Robert, Wes, Wendell. But while you have been engaged in speaking tours and collecting research grants, I've been in the trenches for 30 years fighting corporate ag. Right now, an 'organic co-operative', I was compelled to trust for reasons of economic imperative, has devastated me!

Call Organic Valley, their farmer hotline is 1-888-809-9297. Ask for Doran Holm. Ask him what gives for their ill treatment of a very modest but independently-thinking family farmer. They are no better than Monsanto, worse perhaps even--for hiding out in shepherd's garb, while misleading and abusing the sheep (customers), and any small anachronistic farmer who defies them and calls them out for the contemptuous liars and bogus 'friends' that they are.
