''... urged government to view Sri Lanka’s ethnic strife in the context of history and not through the telescope of terrorism....''
History is: political, economic, environmental and military oppression of Tamils in the last six decades. Over this period many journalists, lawyers and Catholic clergy have paid the price with their lives for criticising the successive governments.
Will Lasantha's death open the eyes of the Sinhalese majority?
In the poem ''when they came for me there was none''. But in Lasantha's case the world has been woken up to the sixty-year genocide
of Tamils.
Physically and psychologically trampled Tamils are holding their breath to see any action by the international community.
