I agree totally with the contents of the article. What has not been mentioned is the NEW player in all this .. the SCO!.(Shangai Coop. Org.)The balance of power in the Midle east has changed for EVER, after the Georgia War!! If Russia has been able to RETURN (for EVER) in the world stage, it has been because they have KEPT THEIR WORD in every single affair ! They have GAINED friends while the US has been loosing them for the past 8 or more years! The only way Obama can delay(not STOP!) the fall of the “Empire” is .. FORCING ISRAEL to ACCEPT the Arab-Muslim ofer.. GO BACK to the 1967 borders!! It is the ONLY way Israel can EXIST in the future!! I can not understand that so intelligent people as the JEWS are.. can NOT VISUALIZE the new geostratigic map of their own “Country”!!

i am not in mood right now to think/write ab Second N War.
but i will think/write ab probability that there will be even more poor people in the world and US.
just 50 yrs ago there was plenty more of clean water/air, minerals, wild life, fish than now; and now plenty more than 50 yrs from now. and while we had a lot just 50-100 yrs ago, we did not do much if anything for people in poverty.
in fact, we’v taken from some people even what little they had: clean air and water.
well, one explanation for such behavior mighty be found in the nature: it being infinitely-valued, we also r infinitely valued. tnx

EU needs Russia because Russia is a Energy and Military Superpower in Europe. Russia is the biggest country in Europe and the whole world. More than half of Europe is part of Russia. EU is incomplete and disable with out Russia it simply a pupet and robot of US empire. EU should give memberhsip to Russia now before the US empire make another war in Europe that will bring hell and total destruction of Europe and US. US Empire are now demonzing Ukraine, Poland , Lithunia and Chez Republic and the next war in Europe is Nuclear War or World War 3.
US Missile Defense in Eastern Europe and Expansion of NATO it will cause another war and that is Nuclear War or World War 3. Russia have capabality totally destroy and burn US and EU in matter of one hour.

I don’t know where Mr Walberg gets the idea that any of this “shows the weakness of the EU”, or that “pipsqueaks” are pursuing “petty grudges” and leaving the EU “helpless”. His entire article proves the opposite! Indeed, his whole argument is precisely that the EU is pursuing an eminently sensible agenda! He’s perfectly right in that but I think he just doesn’t understand how European democracy works and, therefore, how the agenda is arrived at.
