since we (the masses) are allowed to attempt one day of participatory democracy we should not waste our vote or let it be stolen?

"Well, frankly, if you’re too bummed out by this recitation of facts and statistics to vote, then maybe you don’t deserve to vote, or to drive or to reproduce.", writes the author.

so, if we choose not to vote due to depression brought on by the difficulties of voting or because the candidates are just polarizing figures that offer nearly the same voting records and espouse the same vague platitudes that they will change washington, amerika and the world to stir the masses to get off the couch and vote to justify the existence of the this charade that is called democracy, in this country, should we be considered ill-equipped to qualify for driving priviledges or the ability to reproduce also?

thanks for the facts and decoding of matrices. yet, i still found it hard to decide to vote for the war criminal or the future war criminal.

This is the first presidential election I've ever voted in where I wouldn't be "reasonably content" if EITHER mainstream candidate won! Yes, I voted Third Party, and I don't cotton to any of the standard bullshit about "spoilers": I managed to "throw away my vote" QUITE successfully in 2004, thank you kindly, when I opted for [ABB] Kerry, who so spinelessly and hastily conceded THAT particular stolen election.

Some days it's just plain obvious: "Life sucks, and then you die." American democracy is in the toilet; and as a result, "We," as the character Leonard said in Full Metal Jacket, "ARE in a world of shit."

Precisely Phil! Where's the &*%#ing choice!?

Thanks for an educational article Greg, and for posting the results of your investigation.

Rove...what a deplorable douche bag, always has been, always will be.

Best to all.

Thanks - very informative, and some stuff that doesn't seem too known even among those who've been following the issue since 2000.

But that's still a small part of the problem. Even if all votes were guaranteed to be fairly & accurately counted, how much would that be worth when the choice in candidates is so limited and stacked?
