Another great column, Mike. I read you, Nouriel Roubini, Henry C. K. Liu, John Authers, Floyd Norris, William Greider, Greg Mankiw, Charles R Morris (his wonderful book, The Trillion Dollar Meltdown) and four bloggers whom Morris in one of his Washington Independent columns credits with "changing the rules" of financial reporting - Yves Smith, Felix Salmon, Alea & Steve Randy Waldman.

Today, Monday morning, after hearing yesterday's political talk shows, especially Tom Brokaw interviewing Henry Paulson, I have a little hope. The financial world (CNBC at least) just may be getting your collective message. At the very least, there's no denying that we've seen a sea change in public awareness from just a couple weeks ago, if only due to the events you guys saw coming. Even William Kristol in today's NY Times is sceptical of the Paulson bailout!

So THANKS!

No one knows what to do? I do I am going fishing and listen to some tunes and then when it is nice and quiet out there at the river listen I mean listen and see if the laughter of the gods just got a little louder and then probably think to myself. A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive. My next thought will be, you see I can see into the future, self it sure is quiet out here except for that damn laughter I keep hearing getting louder.

On that seeing into the future thing. I use the past, history to help me with that. Sometimes the history, knowledge in say the last thirty years and the past that we have now been able to see though science in millions of years but to see into the future now days you know the best of times the worst of times is kind of a nobrainer half a brain will do very easy to see now. The answer, Oh man that is the question. Somehow we need to get those damn gods to stop laughing at us. I tried ignoring them didn’t work the laughter was still there. I tried reason didn’t work. I’ll tell you these gods now days are a tuff group. There must be a way, there must be away. These gods are very cleaver because it looks like they decided to not make themselves known to our leaders our fearless leaders. Just us the people can hear them very clever gods. There must be away.

Today on CNN they were talking about the financial crisis and that thing they run on the bottom of the TV said, The filmmakers and their sources argue a combination of factors, including drought and skyrocketing demand, have created a looming global crisis that threatens the long-term survival of the human race, fascinating so I wrote this. There must be away heck I have an idea how about admit we have a problem, no probably to simple. We need to make it more complex than that so people think it's important and what else that we are hearing about the last few week's that was complex to seem more important and many on Wall Street said that's important I want some can I have more? Absolutely you can let's do this one more time. The long-term survival of the human race now color me crazy but that seems sort of important.

Past time to start seizing the assets of the wealthy, including offshore assets. Time for accountability, and time to let rich folks get reacquainted with the notion of tarring, feathering, and being ridden out of town on a rail. We are NOT all in this together. They broke it, they must pay.
