Robert,

In the spirit of our journey and the great nexus of the human journey of powerful ideas which took us this way rather than that, I offer...

Max-Neef's compelling narrative that complements your essay here.

when we used axes, picks, shovels we had injuries but not many deaths.
then came so-called progress. which brought us proportionately more injuries and deaths.
and much more cancer, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, divorce, pedophilia, thieving, murders, rage, etc.
naturally, people selling us 'progress' always omitted the regress.
thank u

This article reminds me of one of the last conversations in 'Brave New World', except this article took a huge turn for the worse.

Advancing technology for technology sake is something we are brainwashed with, and is detrimental to society. Technology should be a tool for improving our way of life which, with out rapidly increasing knowledge, needs to be kept in check sometime.

It takes money and time to invent things, and we need to allocate those resources properly. Our birdshot approach is making this tool we call technology entirely too cumbersome to use anymore.

I in no way condone any censorship on invention, but it's time to start finishing some old projects before we throw money and time at new ones.
