I love reading these threads. You guys-writers and responders- are witty, intelligent and DEAD ON about all of these issues.
I just joined votenader.org to volunteer. I hope he gets 10% so that we can watch him mop the floor with those two. This will be the third time I've voted for him and I NEVER regretted it.

Hey Gordon,
I like most of what you say but I have one issue with the spoiler title for Nader. To blame Ralph Nader for the Bush victory is taking a shot at a convenient target but not the correct one. I blame the Democrats for not getting off thier butts and voting as well as the Dem party for not selecting a more inspiring candidate. Let's not absolve them of thier responsability. Let's dispell the illusion that we have only 2 choices...greater and lesser evil. I refuse to choose any evil.

A weasel waving a white flag is good but I think a better mascot is an elephant wearing fake donkey ears holding a rubber stamp. Wake up America! The hour is later than you think.

So everybody's flocking to Nader or some third party candidate! I am tempted as well, disgusted as I am with the Dems' caving in on FISA and, more importantly, impeachment, thanks to the new Speaker's "It's off the table" pronouncement. We have the most impeachable president and vp in history and a cast of thousands who've committed major crimes for them, and we get no closer to holding them accountable than the "not-impeachment-imperial abuses hearing we saw Conyers conduct last Friday.
Tempted to go third party? Beware, there still is, I believe, some qualitative difference between the GOP and the Dems. The latter are more compassionate, when all is said and done, and if poverty is to be attacked the Dems are more likely to reduce income inequality than the Fat Cats of the GOP. Also, really, do you want McCain or Obama making the next two or three appointments to the Supreme Court? There is a difference that will make a major difference, and your third party candidates might make good appointments but they're not going to be elected.
Finally, just think about Nader the Spoiler in 2000, when he subtracted enough votes from Gore to put the worst president ever into the White House. And it's clear from what Gore has said that he would never have gone into Iraq. It was Bush who got into bad (neocon) company and wrecked our economy and the Middle East and destroyed what was left of our global reputation. With Gore we'd be in a much better place now.
I'm just saying...

As a lifelong "Reagan Republican" I am disgusted with what both parties have become. I was ready to dump 30 years of habit and vote Democratic this fall, but now I find that as I've changed, so too have the Democrats. It seems we're all fascists now - tossing out constitutional rights and manufacturing new bogeymen as justification for same. First the insane, illegal, and murderous Iraq war. Next it's Iran's turn to be devastated; either at our hands or those of the Israelis. And the Democrats will be right along for the whole ride, while just occasionally expressing timid reservations. Thanks God I didn't vote for the Commander in Chimp in 2004. I voted for Nader, not wanting to have any hand in the genocidal, suicidal foreign policy of the Washington/Jerusalem axis.

Blah,Blah,Blah...ad infinitum...
Ralph Nader is our best hope, says one Blah...

"If the Democratic Party will not protect the Constitution, it is time for the people to lead." concludes with a flurry this other Blah Blah...

And not a word about Ron Paul's Revolution and march on Washington on Sat 12th, the only guy in the horizon that could scare the shits out of Bush and Cheney, restore liberties and protect the Constitution that this writer is so preocupied about.

OK, go ahead and 'Swap the Donkey for a Weasel' if it makes you happy and gives you a sense of achievement. But the STATUS QUO will still be there staring back at you with a viscious snarl...

Hey Jeff,

You made my point, so I'm just gonna add a cpl minor pts, then shut up: coldblooded freak Woodrow Wilson was even more racist than most other pre-Civil Rts mov't Demo presidents/candidates which a cursory look at his record will reveal, but the Dem Pty was Slavery Party since ante-bellum era, right through demise of Reconstruction, installation of Jim Crow, & toleration of Enslavement via corruption of "justice" system right up to WWII, when FDR got worried Axis powers cd make propaganda hay about industrialized slavery & Lynch Law so asked his Solid South pals (read Kleagle Kaucus) Dem Pty olboy network to cut it out for The Duration.

Well I hate to discourage these Recovering Obamaniacs, give em credit for making progress toward reality, but quiet as it's kept, there aint no great "American Democracy" to get back: never existed.

The "American Revolution" was about protecting Slavery and advancing Manifest Destiny. All that "liberty" rap was just like the "WMD" rap: a snowjob to get the schmucks to go out & kill for their Betters. Okay, you're right, certain privileges & material incentives were also offered, long as "Free White & 21":)

But main principle was as described: keep the n***as in their place, only good injun is a dead same, Hurrah for the Red Wyt & Blue.

Some extroridinary crimes have happened and will continue to happen on a national level within our government. After watching the WACO Video its very apparent these people were murdered intentionally. I was initallyconvinced by CNN and Fox about these people's criminality. The day JFK was murdered I was a boy in the hospital watching the motorcade and remember counting 5 shots. But what really convinced me of the complicity of the US Government murdering this man and later his brother was the A&E documentary that really brought many many witnesses from that time to comment and testify what they saw and how and why it contradicted the US Government Report. Dr. Steven Jones, well known nphysicist among several world leaders and men of differing expertise all opine that the WTC was a monstrous crime committed by the US Government . Indeed how could a 1700 page detailed document be so quickly made law, 4-5 weeks after the incident precipitating it.
Friends, the common citizen lost control of his government long ago. Now it is obvious that Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney and Mr. Rumsfield among others lied and obfuscated in starting the Iraqi War. But consider Vietnam; this is by Vietnams testimony shortly after the war to the UN Security Council: 2 million killed in the North, 2 million killed in the South, 640k dead soldiers and over 3 million wounded. 68% of the dead were non combatants, that is children and often the elderly.
We suffered over 58,00o dead and about 310,00 wounded. Over 100,000 Vietnam Veterans are in US Prisons today. WHAT WAS VIETNAM FOR? I was 19 when I was there and and even today no one really knows why we were there. Communism would spread to the rest of SEA. Vietnam became a Communist Country and the rest of SEA did not.
There are over 900 enumerated false statements by Mr. Bush and cronies. Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Conyers won't move against him by self admission.
NOW, think for a moment, would anyone in there right mind commit the CRIMES committed by this administration which makes those of the REAGAN and former administrations pale in comparison.

Friend and nieghbor, to do what is being done in the United States today requires complete control of the FBI, CIA, NSA, Military Intelligence, Secret Service etc. Otherwise, these men would hazard thier lifes, their goods, their homes, their families which no one in thier right mind would EXCEPT your guaranteed IMMUNITY!
Why is Mr. George Bush so arrogant and why does he not have a thought for payday at the end of his Administration, because he knows he is protected and there are those within the Democratic and Republican Party whose purpose is to serve the team and ideals of Globalism not Democracy or the People of the United States of America. You can cluck patriotism for the masses but your cronies will protect you.
Now some of the changes in the offing WILL INVOLVE murder on a mass scale. Perhaps thats why internet news services such as this are so closely watched and NSA's complaint that some thing must be done to control this media and is already underway.
But as Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin later after consolidating their power murdered and tortured those who critically spoke against them during their rise, so are you my friend closely watched.
Most deadly diseases, food additives, cattle feed responsible for Mad Cow disease among others is for a purpose. These folks truly believe that 6 billion human beings must be removed from Planet Earth to make it livable for the remaining 2.5 billion.
Since the mid 80's the Feds incahoots with the car companies have made it plausible to stop all traffic by satellite. Microchips in auto computers and identity of all livestock by microchip registration, companie like Monsanto control the greater percentage of planted crops in the US by seed engineering and manipulation. The orchestrated fuel crisis affects EVERYONE using derivatives you can do it anonymously then cluck about one's innocence. It is a must to drive the middle class to desperation in surviving, they will be basically helpless in standing against severe economic changes to come. The average citizen is a rabbit when it really counts, that is endangering himself, his job, his home and his income to stand against tyranny.
My fellow vet and friend Paul, disussed much what is now underway. He opined that it would happen in the 80's and 90's, I said it would be about half a dozen years into the new century. I was right. Unfortunately my friend died, otherwise, I would remind him every day I was right. But what a thing to be right about. This is one time I WISH with all my heart I was wrong. For your sake and mine.
In a forum there are many opinions which is what its for. Globalists vilify the messenger or attack his character to discredit his opinion.
I may differ in opinion, but it must be based on merit, your person is beside the point.
Thise forum has not the space and time to present the evidence researched now 20-22 years. But I'm sure there are better informed commentators about what looms ahead.

Have you ever wondered why corporate controlled democrat and republican spinners spent so much money to denigrate Ralph Nader?

Nader was indeed a spoiler. He threatened to spoil their lifestyle and return control of our government to its rightful owners, the people.

Remember what Lincoln said, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

Americans are finally beginning to see through the mind manipulation tactics of the corporate spinners.
They are beginning to listen to Ralph Nader. Thanks to bloggers determined to find truth.

I decided I am casting my vote for a third party candidate this presidential election. I just do not trust the democratic party any more, and lost my trust for the republicans in 1984. I just can't care anymore.

The thought of Pelosi, Democrat Speaker of the house, standing before the AIPAC crowd at their annual treason fest, holding the dog tags of the three "kidnapped" Israeli soldiers and crying, makes me puke.

The Democratic party died 40 years ago, in the summer, in Chicago. All we have now is the vile ghost of that party floating around, pretending to be something real. With any luck, that putrid ghost will pass from the scene in November. With a LOT of luck, so will the repugnantcan party, as people wake up and vote for Nader ... well it's nice to dream, even when you're old.

Where do I start? Well, first of all I thought Obama was really different, a new kind of politician - someone who's actions spoke louder than his "inspiring words" , someone that would protect my civil liberties . How wrong I was... Once I really started reading his speeches instead of just listening to them, I realized that they really were nothing more than cliche' hollow promises ...

Then , I started looking at his voting record, and much to my horror, I found out that he voted to renew the Patriot Act in March 2006. When the news of Obama's FISA/Telecom Immunity support, I said to myself, this is not the same guy that I thought I was getting in the Primaries . It was similar to the feeling of finding and finally buying your perfect "dream" house and once you move in, you realize you that your house was built on a toxic waste site and your next door neighbors are drug dealers.

sadly, I realize there really was not much difference between Obama and McCain when it comes to protecting my rights as an American. So, I'm voting for Ralph Nader now. Once I researched Ralph, I realized that Ralph Nader has spent his entire life fighting for worker Safety/Rights and OSHA, Consumer Protection Act, Clean Air, EPA, and against Americans against oppressive government, unsafe products, foods and drugs, Airbafgs, Seatbelts, crash testing.

Why is the media marginalizing Ralph Nader - he is a man of real interigity, courage that has proven he is committed to Americans and
preserving our freedoms.

Go to www.votenader.org to check out Ralph Nader, type of person we REALLY need in the White House. Ralph is the candidate of REAL CHANGE and REAL HOPE!

I registered to vote for the first time this year and I voted for Obama in the Oregon Democratic Party Primary, but now I'm upset with both Barack Obama and nearly all of the Democratic Party members of both of the two houses of the USA Congress. Their recent FISA vote was the last straw! In the primary I voted for progressive Democrat Steve Novick for USA Senate but he lost the nomination to a moderate/establishment Democrat (who was backed and funded by the party leadership). I have now filled out a new voter registration card to switch my party membership to the Pacific Green Party and I will vote for Nader/Gonzalez in the general election (I prefer Nader's positions to McKinney's). I don't intend to vote in another Democratic Party Primary (to vote in one would only make the Democratic Party think I am still in their fold), though in General Elections I will vote for the most progressive Democratic candidate if there is not a Green Party, Libertarian Party, or progressive/reform independent candidate running for the same office.

I now believe that the Democratic Party is nothing more than the left wing of the Republican Party and thus the two largest parties are really simply the Democratic-Republican Party. Surprisingly the words of a former President J. F. Rutherford of the Jehovah's Witnesses' Watchtower and Bible Tract Society come to mind from his book of 1928 called "Government". There he says on page 21: "Every four years in the United States the people are called upon to select a president. There are two major political parties that put candidates into the field. Both of these parties are controlled by the favored and selfish interests. Candidates for both these parties are named by Big Business, often secretly behind closed doors; and the convention of the people is manipulated thereafter to cause their election. " [Note this was before the nomination process was opened up fully to voters of the respective parties, but the corporate controlled media and the corporate controlled Democratic-Republican party still tell us who their hand picked candidates are for the nominations - we merely get to chose among their small list of candidates.] "The voters go the polls and vote; but Big Business wins, regardless of who is elected. Then the government is carried on by and in the interest of a few and against the interests of the majority. It is anything but a democracry." No wonder most Jehovah's Witnesses don't even bother voting in elections, they know the truth about the Democratic-Republican party.

I think Nader is our best option. Barr has been back and forth on civil liberties, being a strong supporter of the war on drugs, and actually voting for the patriot act, didn't he?
That aside, I also agree that neither Obama or McCain is an option if we want a hint of democracy in this nation, or want any say in war or not.
If just a few more people back Nader's rights to get in on the debates, he's almost there. He is trying to work with Barr to give more people the right to run, and not be shut out from the debates. Also, Nader and Gonzales want to implement runoff voting so there is no such thing as a "spoiler" candidate. He has shown he sees the problem clearly, and has straight-forward solutions to at least get us headed back in the right direction. If Nader gets in, Barr, Ron Paul and many others will actually be real practical options in the future.

Nader was proposing these electoral reforms 4 years ago I think, so democrats wouldn't have to worry about "spoilers", if they really did just wanted to give people options from Bush.

What! This is an insult to weasels! A weasel would latch onto Bush's ear and hang there until Cheney beat it to death with his bible! A weasel would slaughter the opposition in an orgy of violence leaving them helpless to vote against the power of justice! Go weasels!
