I'm buying this book.

I am tired of the passivity and apologetics of those who are supposed to be fighting for justice in the traditionally "blue" parts of this country.

Life aint so great for those of us in the "true west" who aren't government employees either. It's past time to repeal the Taylor Grazing Act and send in the military and clean out the welfare graziers on public lands. This small group calls the shots in the so-called true west, controlling legislatures, and living off public subsidies, in money and lands. Millions in tax dollars are spent on predator control projects for the benefit of these "welfare queens". Meanwhile, the destruction their uncontrolled grazing causes to fish and wildlife habitat is immeasurable, much of it caused before the end of the 19th Century.

In this mythical placed called the true west, if livestock trespasses on public roads and causes an accident, it is the DRIVER who is responsible. If you want to keep livestock off your property, it's up to you to fence them out, not for the welfare rancher to fence them in.

All this for the exclusive benefit of an anachronism of an "industry", the public-land grazing "industry", that produces less than 15 percent of the meat consumed in the country, an amount which would be made up immediately by real ranchers. And, then they have the gall to bellow about heritage and tradition, which is how they describe a bad habit that has become ingrained over the past 150 years.

Thank you. My wife and I lived in Kanab, Utah for 6 years. 6 years in a combat zone. No one believes what has happened to us or to people like Gloria Flora, the former manager of the Humboldt-Toyabe NF in Nevada. They don't believe you when you find an IED on a back road in rural America. They don't believe the facts of BLM offices in Reno being bombed, of attempted bombings elsewhere, of assaults on federal officials, attacks on normally conservative federal officials as they drive down the road. They don't believe you when you say a government contractor comes into the office and threatens bloodshed, and when this is mentioned at a meeting of federal contracting officer reps- said contractor finds out- the person who brought it up is made to send a formal written letter of apology. They don't believe you when you tell them you go out and patrol and don't know if you'll come home to find you're family murdered, your home burned, your animals dead. They don't believe the attempted ambushes against employees who filed complaints for religious discrimination. When you try to do your job as objectively as possible, as fairly as possible and because you don't choose sides you become ostracized at best, a target at worst. No one believes how many people leave these areas because they fear for the lives of their families. Thank you for bringing this out in a small sense. If only corporate media would talk about it. If only someone else would listen and actually care. Then maybe the survivors could talk publicly and loudly and not in whispers as they look over their shoulders waiting for the bullet.
