No one seems to ask the important questions about these weapons. The first is what on earth are they being built for? They appear to be crowd control weapons, but where are the crowds? Hello peace movement? No, no one there. No anti-war movement threat demanding crowd control weapons now or in the forseable future. Perhaps the economy will worsen and riots ensue? While one cannot perhaps underestimate the paranoia of the ruling class that just screwed up the First World economy big time, perhaps these weapons are merely another profit center for the usual corporations. Hardly innocent, but no sign of them on the streets yet. No sign of anything on the streets!

All too true… The police and their minions in the courts don’t give damn about any of us. The Cleveland ruling re: ordering the ME to “scrub” any mention of Taser “products” from the record is disturbing, to say the least.

Unfortunately, when new “non-lethal” products come “on-line,” I would expect more of the same. It just keeps escalating…

The taser was supposed to be non-lethal as well. How many people have been killed by it? Here in Canada the RCMP Complaints Commissioner, Paul Kennedy found widespread abuse of the taser by Mounties. Often an officer will stun a victim several times. In a recent incident at YVR, officers tasered a non belligerent lost traveler and then hit him again as he convulsed on the floor. He died after not one of four Mounties, all trained in CPR went to his aid.

Taser use was found to increase the with an increase of the number of officers attending- they do it to impress each other!

They were found to be using tasers as bully tools, or tools of torture, then not even reporting their use. Summoning medical help afterward was not the norm. They tasered a thirteen year old boy, and an oxygen-starved eight-two year old heart patient in his hospital bed.

Repressive and sadistic measures taken against citizens by fascist authorities won’t be tolerated. There will be a severe and violent backlash. Taser (or microwave or laser) me, and I promise there will be extremely severe consequences.
