The way the media went on and on about the greatness of that piece of excrement once again shows just how sick our society has become. It almost made me as ill as the coverage, and, worse, outpouring of sorrow from far too many common folks who had been totally screwed by him, when Reagan, very comparable to Helms in real stature, finally quit breathing. What kind of a screwy bunch keeps on reaching so deeply into the cesspool for its “leaders”?

“The Salvadoran paramilitaries were a special favorite of Helms — he once said of the Hitler-loving death-squad leader Roberto D’Aubuisson that he was “a free enterprise man and deeply religious.”

D’Aubisson was a good pal of Reagan and became President of El Salvadore. His nickname was ‘Blowtorch Bob’ for his chosen method of eliminating enemies. It was well earned.

In the case of Jesse Helms, what truly despicable human beings America manages to create, and then to honor. What a strange and sad nation!

I’m truly sorry to hear that. Which makes me not a very good person, I guess.
