hp,

I follow your argument to a point. The question of dual-loyalty or the "israel first" mentality you claim guides U.S. policy seems a bit of a stretch. The vast majority of congress critters may quake in fear over AIPAC is accurate, but corporatist interests rule. The major corps are run by xians, not Jews. The majority of xian zionists are just that, xians with an apocalyptic, antisemitic bent. The tail doesn't wag the dog. Israel as an imperial battle platform, a land-based aircraft carrier? Certainly. As the primary determinant of U.S. policy? There, we part ways...

No Tom, I did not.
I expected Congress to play Sgt. Schultz to the hilt.
"I see nothing. I hear nothing. I know nothing."

Exactly like a lot of 'citizens' of the US do when it comes to Israel.
The question of dual loyalty never enters my mind.
They are loyal to Israel. This is very clear and it always has been.

I can see a future where practically every member of Congress and the military will not be able to leave the USA for fear of arrest and prosecution for war crimes.
Same for Israel.

Unfortunately, hp, you're all too correct. But did you really expect Congress to pull the trigger, so to speak, on Israeli torture and/or spying?

With friends like the US congress, the spies and torturers of a semi-foreign nation have more rights and protection than any so-called citizen of the USA.
