Kudos, Kim, good job.

Agree w/ Baldizar B that nd is to widen focus: the "Democrats" are as guilty as he/Cheney/Rethuglican Pty ziocons. Saw Gravel on Amy G today; his take: Impeachment demand fine w/him, but won't happen. How about instead of "impeachment" focus, Prosecute. Bush in the dock at The Hague.

Well all this stuff is symbolic; if it helps signif. numbers of people grasp the enormity of recent US history I guess it's worth the effort. Except that nothing will happen as long as people keep lining up behind Lesser Evils. For starters if you want me to take you seriously, gotta announce adherence to Boycott The Democrats. Only when there is a substantial Movement maintaining clear Separation from the Electoral Duopoly will we be out of the realm of fantasy.

I do see usefulness in Kucinich's 35 charges, all laid out/organized in Lawyerly style; could likely serve as an "exec summary" of Pleadings before ICC? However it's time for DK to get off the fence. Wd serve cause of justice & decency more in the end if he'd announce Hell No, I won't go for Obamania cuz I Don't Buy It.
Of course it's really Ramsey Clark's 35 theses. And it's all about influencing USian Public Opinion, I guess.

More useful to that end than Kucinich/Ramsey's Impeach demand is probly Gravel et al's Ballot Initiative to set up an official NY State 911 Commish, which wd have subpoena powers. So if you're in the Empire State, probly should be out circulating the Petition to put it on the ballot.

Would it be worthwhile to try similar ballot initiatives in other states, such as CA? I'd say notion is worth pondering?

Well I approve of all this exposing, documenting, raising demands. But as long as the line of demarcation between "Us" & the "Thems" remains so vague & confused, Bush/Pelosi & pals will lose no sleep.

McKinney, Nader, Gravel: all have virtues, politically spkng. Nader talks about Obama like a dog, in terms close to Glen Ford/B Dixon/M Kimberley, but then slides into Plitnick-Speak, accomodating Soft Zionism & the 2-State Illusion. Gravel is into this NY ballot initiative, which cd blow th roof off the whole thing. But he's a Libertarian, plus corny, reminds me of fifties daytime television.

McKinney's been my pick from before The Jump, but she sure goes easy on Obama... well that's a strong current to swim upstream in, I mean the "Community Consensus", but if Glen Ford can do it, why can't Cynthia? That's a question, not a statement, & I don't pretend to have all the answers. But IMHO it's a relevant question...???

Okay, right on Kim, yr my favorite editor:) You & Annette Gee:)

While bozhidar balkas is certainly correct that Bush's imperialist message does not vary much in substance from the imperialist messages and actions of over 200 years of US governments, his conclusion that K.P., in his review of IMPUNITY, has been "picking on bush only" is scarcely applicable. Anyone slightly familiar with Petersen's work on DV and elsewhere knows that he has made the abominable treatment of North America's indegenes a focal concern of his. Furthermore, his comprehensive, but space-limited, review of the IMPUNITY book can't technically wander too far from the book's subject, contents and theme. Patently, this is a book about violations of the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions and the the US refusal to recognize the ICC's jurisdiction over it, and its refusal to abide by the terms and intention of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; necessarily, it must highlight developments since the end of the Second World War, including the establishment of the UN, the institutionalization of the Bretton Woods agreements, and the hegemony of the US Empire and New World Order since the end of the Cold War. That's a plateful! Best to keep the timelines and the framework in mind when making comments!

This sounds like an important book that merits attention and review, and Petersen has served DV's readers well in bringing it to our notice.

when ur the head of a powerful empire like US u can be intenationally stupid.
however, what bush is saying may not differ that much from what most and perhaps all prez' have been saying for 2 cent.
as far as i know, all or most of them were saying inanities after deliberation.
after all if u intend to extirpate indigenes of the redlands, how will u do it unless u lie knowingly and using it as war on nerves as well and not just against the body?
but then nearly all people: brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, salespeople, generals, priests, lawyers, neighbors, et al do daily what bush is doing and every prez before him.
so, my advice is, stop picking on bush only. start ur historic narrative of US 1790 and not '03; and of the world 20td yrs ago.
the wider the vista, the wiser one is
